  1. Wily Mo rapes the ball when he hits it.
  2. Nice K. DiNardo has a pretty good GB/FB ratio, and Molina is slower than s***. DP........called it.
  3. Did you watch last year at all? Wells started off like crap then too, but he was one of our most effective pitchers for the remaining 5 months after he came back from the DL. Coming down the stretch, I had serious doubts about the Sox chances in each game that Boomer or Wake weren't pitching. Wells $$ is tied to his performance, so I wouldn't worry about Boomer. He's a gamer. Has been his whole career.
  4. Papi says, "Shift this, bitches!"
  5. One year, 2003 when he hit 32. His high outside of that year is 27. My point remains.
  6. Power monger? Please, Mike has been a powerful hitter in the past, but never what you'd call a power monger. That is complete hyperbole. His best IsoP year was 2003 when it was ~.260. For the most part, he's been a .200 IsoP kind of guy. Do I think he'll uphold the ~.280 IsoP he has now? Not really, but in 7 games he's hit a dinger and dented the Monster twice, so I wouldn't say his power has dried up either.
  7. Right, no power. Is that why his IsoP is .280 coming into tonights game? I know it's early, and I'm only expressing a little happiness that he's playing well. My comment was more positive sarcasm than anything else.
  8. PENA WALKS! In other news, there were reports of fire and brimstone raining down in a Middle Eastern city. That confirms it folks, the apocalypse is upon us.
  9. You can't keep Mike Lowell off the bases, you can only hope to slow him down. Our washed up 3B is having a....... f*** you, NESN, for showing some gay ass interview when Mohr goes yard!
  10. I really, really, really like our IF defense. Boomer has settled down a bit too. The curve is looking better with each inning pitched.
  11. That foul was a laser. Nice job going with the pitch the other way after that.
  12. Impressive, Wily Mo takes a pitch. Is that a first?
  13. How does sending DiNardo out for some LRP blow the 'pen? Especially when the SPs have gone 7 innings in 5 of 7 starts thus far. Keep trying.
  14. Thanks Bengie. Come on bats, can't take the night off tonight.
  15. Wells looks like the out of shape fat man he is. He started off slow last year too though, and when he got hot he was dependable. It won't shock me to see the same thing happen this year.
  16. Two gopher balls for Boomer to start the game. Bleh.
  17. Gonzo's slicker than s*** through a goose.
  18. I couldn't agree more, and it has nothing to do with the fact that he works for the Yanks. He's been going on the Sports Reporters on ESPN Sunday mornings, and my opinion of him as a douche was formed well before I ever saw him on YES.
  19. Different FOs were on either end of Nomar's deal. I'm sure the fact that the new ownership group tried to trade him in the offseason had a lot to do with his rejection of their $60M deal. I'll also bet he's kicking himself every day for not taking that deal.
  20. Good move. I already like Coco, and I see him a part of the future core. Treat him well now, and he might treat the FO well in the future when he hits the market. The naysayers who say this FO is cheap and doesn't respect players need to eat some crow right about now after the Ortiz and Crisp extensions.
  21. That's funny.
  22. And a lot of the same was being said after Ortiz' first month with the Sox, where he went .212/.311/.346 with 1 HR and 11 Ks in 52 AB. I'm not saying WMP is the next David Ortiz, but he does deserve a chance.
  23. Oh no, he's not taking shots, he's just joking. Although, if you respond in kind, you are just being a prick. Besides, he's only here to "talk baseball". I didn't know you could catch the signal underneath a bridge?
  24. You said it was the Talksox league, and in the league I'm in there is a team called kreinbihl34, go figure. BTW, my team name is J-Omega.
