    I'm watching the FSN-NW feed on mlb.tv, and I swear I'm not lying, they just had about 10 seconds of dead air where the announcers said nothing during Manny's AB. Manny, pull your head from your ass.

    Nobody was predicting decline for Damon this year, or next for that matter. It's the last two years of that contract where the predictions of decline are likely to happen. You know this. Nice try.

    Wow, did my post go completely over your head. I expect Manny to revert to his norm. I also expect for the Sox hits to revert to situational norm......in other words, I expect the ball to start missing fielders when there are runners on base. Right now, the offense is experiencing a sort of double cross. Manny's in a funk and situational hitting is struggling, but I don't see that holding for appreciable periods of time. And, FWIW, Lowell slipping to .270 and Youk slipping to .280 aren't enough to balance out Manny recovering from .220 and no dingers in 30+ ABs.

    And all of those players struggled and rebounded in cities other than Boston and NY. Renteria and Vazquez were shipped out before a rebound chance was given, so you can't blame their performance on the city they were in. Clement has been a good game then bad game pitcher his whole career. I think the line of thinking that NY and Boston are too intense for some is completely overrated. These teams have deep pockets, so they can stand to eat some salary/value when they ship ineffective players out of town after one year, which is what commonly happens. Do you really mean to tell me that Javier Vazquez all of a sudden gave up the long ball solely because he was in NY? Well, he went to stress free AZ last year and surrendered the most HR of his career in the light-hitting NL West.

    Bill Mueller was very good with runners on. He also hit into an inordinate number of double plays. What's my point? You take the good with the bad, but thus far this team, despite not being bad statistically, has been bad with runners on. And Manny is in a funk. When the other shoe drops, comebacks will be more of a possibility.

    That seems to be very true this year. Last year, they were never out of it, but the offense is a little stagnant this year. And, that's with only one real hole in the lineup (Gonzo). But with Manny not being Manny, the struggles with runners on, they are going to be in trouble whenever the SP doesn't hold serve.

    Toronto seems to be entirely too comfortable against our pitchers. Tavarez should dust someone.

    Nah, Replacement Level Lilly is too busy throwing every good pitch he won't throw against the Yankees. I swear, this mutt seems to throw a gem against us every time, and he can't find the plate against the Yankees.
