  1. so many... consistencies in post... argh. first of all who said olerud was injured?? it is bellhorn, mantei, and foulke who were all having a such a bad year anyway compared to 2004 season. Youre complaining about Adam Stern just having one major league hit?? he just got called up to the majors for christ sake dude, and it has been limited at bats since tito is now starting to see trot can hit against lefties this season. Adam Stern has got the potential to be an all star someday, especially with that speed of his. Manny has picked up from his early slump, like hello since June 1 his average was hovering above .240, now its stayed consistent at .275 range, batting average means s*** right now since he has 24 homeruns and major league leading 84 RBIs. And oh my god dont you dare go gettin on gabe kapler's back, complaining hes returning to the Sox. Do you know how different Japanses league baseball pales in comparison to the American League, pitchers over there dont ever throw fastballs, all American players who have gone oevr there to play baseball reach the same slumps.
  2. only thing I do agree with Soxie is Wade Miller, each time 5th or 6th inning he will be up to the 100 pitch count. Everyone keeps tellin me he will get better, when exactly will that be???
  3. Alex Cora is one of the men on the red sox roster who has been doing very well against lefties. So far 7 for 15 (.467 avg). johnny had a .364 avg, but after 0-5 stint last night, dropped some, jeez I think they shouldve just marked that error up as a hit for Johnny, a freebie at least
  4. just one quick question, how did his trading deals suck?? it got rid of nomar who was dragging down the sox at this point, got us backup 1st baseman doug, and the famous stolen base (Dave Roberts), as well as Orlando Cabrera and Pokey Reese. Theo is the master in my eyes
  5. kevin millar is in fact starting to turn things around, it has now been in 5 straight games hes drawn a walk, 8 altogether since game 1 agaisnt the yankees. from the all star break is obp% has gone up from .351 to currently .364. Since the all star break---he has had 6 hits for 13 at bats (.533 avg), 3 doubles, RBI, 3 Runs scored, 8 walks, and just 2 strikeouts
  6. Sox were going through exact same slump last July, then theo did in fact work his magic at the trade deadline, thats where the sox took off, most notably winning 19 out of their last 22 games at one point.
  7. yeaaa exactly, boo he drew 3 walks for the night
  8. no he didnt dude, the call was reversed
  9. johnny you had a good run, salute you on that. now cmon boys with this loss we will drop to 2nd, get the offense up, we are playing the devil rays right??
  10. thats my boy Mueller , he came up to Tito after last nights game and told him hed be willing to handle 2nd base until bellhorn comes back. But as it is so far, Tito wants Cora to get in a groove and hit some more.
  11. Actually the A's after what turned out to be a lackluster season, theyve been heating up the bats along with great pitching. they have won 7 out of their last 10, including taking 3 out of 4 from division mate Texas Rangers most recently.
  12. irish jay, im a big fan as anybody else of the sox and patriots. but lets net get too cocky here lot of ball to play and anything can happen
  13. any chance 1st baseman mike sweeney of the kansas city royals is in his last season of his contract? I bet he wouldnt pass up an offer to go with the Sox instead of stay with the lowly royals 2005, .310 avg 81 hits, 23 doubles, 13 Homeruns, 31 Runs scored, 48 RBIs, 14 walks, 38 Ks, 2 SBs
  14. fingers crossed tonight. wade miller is starting, though his ERA is a lot lower at hoem than on the road
  15. well sox are blessed with tampa bay devil rays coming into town for the next 3 games, then will be the 4 game series set in Chicago against literally the best team in all majors, 61-29 record speaks for itself. Then sox will get another lift by having to face the devil rays right after chicago. So hopefully thats at least gonna be 6 assured wins this month
  16. yea and baltimore is always willing it seems to give up number of their good players in return they get one player, hasnt really worked for them in the past: currently Marlins offering starting pitcher AJ Burnett and third baseman mike lowell Baltimore offering prospect starting pitcher Hayden Penn, outfielderLarry Bigbie, relief pitcher Jorge Julioa and relief pitcher Steve Kline. my thinking even if that deal does go through, it will make or break Baltimore's season. Oh and haha since sammy sosa was signed for just one season, Baltimore so far has no intensions of extending it, Sammy "I forgot my corked bat in Chicago"
  17. well true but sox are close to putting bellhorn on 15 day DL from sprained thumb
  18. yes in the offseason, as in after september/october--besides several yanks players' contarcts will be ending this season, such as hideki matsui who of course will be lookin for a nice big check to add on the 2006 roster payroll
  19. why, was Abe Alvarez swooped up already??
  20. true sox are in second in highest paid at $123 million. and the yanks are in a "close" top spot at 208 million and counting...
  21. not sure, he would be a big boost to our offense no doubt but we would have to give up a big prospect most likely for him. when sox were trying to a-rod, they actually offered Manny to the Rangers. thank god that deal didnt go through.
  22. maybe pedroia soon than later, sox are contemplating putting bellhorn on the 15 day DL with a sprained right thumb. texas rangers are shopping alfonso soriano around the majors since he is in last season, could theo be sending out scouts to watch him play, I wonder...
  23. hanley or pedroia getting called up, hmm i got an idea to make room in the roster, how about designating embree for assignment--well thats what everybody would do
  24. texas rangers will give yankees taste of their medicine, rangers leads the majors this season with 154 total homeruns
