  4. still takes a man to admit that, hes more one than raffy is
  5. Wake always has turned things around for the Sox this season, helped avoid a sweep from the Cubs which started Sox's 7 game winning streak in June which propelled them to first place over the Orioles. another game he helped avoid a sweep was an 8 inning effort against the Twins, striking out a career high 11 batters
  6. Ortiz didnt find his swing until leaving the Twins and signing with the Sox in 2003
  7. interesting stat I saw in the newspaper. this season the Sox have a 45-10 record when Sox's starting pitchers at least do 7 full innings
  8. I just heard on the radio, this past week the Red Sox's pitching staff has posted a 3.20 ERA
  9. Wakefield has been in the past and still is an innings eater. He leads the team in innings by a big margin. Already performing much better than last year's record 12-10 record, this season is now at 15-10, and with 4 more games could finish out with a 19-10 season, and if its holds a better ERA than his in 2004 (4.89). Has also been having his fair share strikeouts at 123, last season in 32 games had 116 total. Who doesnt like this guy? hes an all around charitable guy that loves being a Red Sox, has been here since 1995 and this past April signed an extension of 3 more seasons, something most players dont do anymore is stay with a team from long period of time. Im always confident when he takes the mound to get things done...
  10. Yanks just seem lately having a tough time trying to close out the 9th innings
  11. http://boards.yesnetwork.com/forums/index.php
  12. this was a given Someday he will get this award for best clutch hitter ever in all of MLB history...
  13. considering just last season, yankees had the winning record against the d-rays 15-4
  14. at least silver lining for you guys, would be another strong outing from RJ
  15. omg wow, my game day was stuck on the 8th inning. cano's defense and poor baserunning decisions put the yanks in a hole
  16. damn is that another error by cano in the 9th inng of a game against the d-rays to let the go-ahead run score??
  17. theyve had the biggest ERA since the All Star Break, NESN had said. What is more sad, in 2005 Angels Bullpen ERA vs Red Sox is at 6.89!! thats not including Papi's HR
  18. best pitching: oh yea its Wakefield getting it done. a complete game with 7 Ks limiting the Angels to just 2 Runs. With his 15th win, has the 3rd most in American League pitching. best offense: Big Papi, something we havent seen, walkoff homerun, by the Angels no less best defense: John Olerud with 3 great defensive plays saving runs, Tony G also saving a run in the 9th
  19. hard to believe its just his 4th regular season walkoff homerun
  20. god i just love seeing that power swing of his, once you see him whiff the bat like that and him throwing it cooly to the ground--you just know
  21. Papi is the most feared hitter!!!
