  1. dont you get all high and mighty either. As I recall the D-Rays are 9-4 against you guys which includes 3 out of 4 at Yankee Stadium, and 2 of 3 in August. Yes true we will be playing 2 of the best teams in the AL, but Sox just about always have Fenway in their favor and in the past couple of weeks the starting pitching has turned around and going deeper into games, and yes that is a fact. Today is Schil, but hey he turned it around and pitched 4 shutout innings after getting rocked, it could mean beginning of someting good,
  2. oh well still have 3.5 game lead, and with yanks not playing tomorrow sox will have a chance to get it up to 4 game lead going into the Angels series while yankees play the uh... Devil Rays
  3. if Manny is indeed traded, look for them to maybe push harder to get paul konerko
  4. now i get to laugh, it couldve been a blowout more than close to a save situation, yanks win 7-3 but strand 15
  5. just because he's a lead off hitter, doesnt get him off for sucking at moving runners along. oh please dude he still needs to move the runners on base. Runners in scoring position/2 outs just has a paltry 228 avg, and yes that is considered bad. Lets go over to Johnny Damon who bats at 382 with RISP/2outs.
  6. as Remy and all of NESN, Gordon Edes, ESPN, Dan Shaughnessy have said "enjoy Manny while he's on the Sox because he will be dealt this offseason, most likely to the Mets"
  7. the fact that 12 of his 14 homeruns this season have all been solo homeruns is laughable enough
  8. yankees pitching rotation is still questionable at best, johnson has just beat up on royals and tigers after having a bad post all-star break but can he really continue this with an aching back?--Al Leiter, nuff said--Jaret Wright, so far will miss at least one start--Mike Mussina, could miss his next start and maybe even the season
  9. Jeter continues to be Mr. Clutch, bases loaded with 2 outs he grounds out--in 2005 he is batting just 228 with RISP/2 outs
  10. ooh stop the presses he's now had his 7th out of 88 games of 2 RBIs or more
  11. Manny last year had averaged at one time, homerun every 11 at bats
  12. um wow i heard about the yanks having low runners in scoring position (2nd worst avg in majors) and fact that they leave lots of men on base--that def rings true, even with 6-2 lead, the yankees have stranded 12 thru the 1st 7 innings
  13. yank fans this is basically what you get, if you want solo dingers go to Bellhorn (7 of 8 this season are solos), if you want him up with 2 outs and runners in scoring position, you might as well gota genie. hes batting .125 this season with runners in scoring position and K'ing up most of those times
  14. i hope you yanks fans dont take this is as he will be hitting homers left and right. Besides that, he was complaining about how Sox fans were booing about him striking out in Fenway, will Yankee Stadium play nice when he K's?
  15. Bellhorn's 1st hit with the yanks is a solo shot
  16. he has had one homerun in his past 19 games, a 2-run shot against the Angels 2 weeks ago
  17. pitcher vs batter matchups Shawn Chacon vs: (1st career appearances against Athletics) Jason Kendall, 5 for 9 (.556 avg) Double, HR, 2 RBIs, 3 Walks, K, SB Mark Kotsay, 3 for 13 (.231 avg) Double, RBI, Walk, K, SB Jay Payton, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) Barry Zito vs: (career against Yankees in 12 games a 2-6 record with a 4.11 ERA) Mark Bellhorn, 1 for 7 (.143 avg) RBI, 4 Walks, 2 Ks, SB Robinson Cano, 0 for 3, K John Flaherty, 3 for 14 (.214 avg) 3 HRs, 5 RBIs, Walk, K Jason Giambi, 3 for 13 (.231 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, 5 Walks, 4 Ks Derek Jeter, 10 for 28 (.357 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, Walk, 7 Ks, SB Matt Lawton, 3 for 12 (.250 avg) RBI, Walk, 5 Ks, SB Tino Martinez, 1 for 8 (.125 avg) 2 Walks, 4 Ks Hideki Matsui, 7 for 19 (.368 avg) Triple, 2 RBIs, 2 Walks, 2 Ks Jorge Posada, 5 for 26 (.192 avg) 2 Doubles, HR, 5 RBIs, 2 Walks, 6 Ks Alex Rodriguez, 10 for 56 (.179 avg) 2 Doubles, 3 HRs, 11 RBIs, 7 Walks, 17 Ks Gary Sheffield, 7 for 17 (.412 avg) 2 HRs, 2 RBIs, 2 Walks, 5 Ks Ruben Sierra, 9 for 35 (.257 avg) 2 Doubles, HR, 3 RBIs, 4 Walks, 6 Ks Bernie Williams, 8 for 31 (.258 avg) 2 HRs, 3 RBIs, 2 Walks, 6 Ks, SB Tony Womack, 2 for 6 (.333 avg)
  18. yess get to see a Yankees game, its been awhile since I last had seen them play. it will be on tonight at 8 on ESPN. Go A's!!! A's, Zito aim for series win over Yanks New York (76-59) at Oakland (76-59), 8:05 p.m. ET Barry Zito, the most veteran pitcher in the A's rotation at just 27 years old, gets the call in the final game of the A's and Yankees weekend series. Oakland couldn't have picked a better candidate to make the start. The lefty is coming off a commanding performance against the Angels in which he threw nine innings and allowed just one run in an 11-inning A's victory. He gave up just three hits in that game and fanned nine batters. Zito has not had the best luck against New York in his career, going 2-6 with a 4.11 ERA in 12 regular season starts. Earlier this year, he received a no-decision in Oakland's 6-3 win in 10 innings at Yankee Stadium. Pitching matchup NYY: RHP Shawn Chacon • 3-2, 3.13 ERA in 2005 • Has not faced OAK in 2005 OAK: LHP Barry Zito • 12-10, 3.37 ERA in 2005 • 0-0, 3.68 ERA vs. NYY in 2005
  19. David Wells now has gone 22 innings with just 3 earned runs allowed, and has lowered his ERA from 4.44 to 4.24, lowest it has been since April
  20. 8 strong innings by the work horse Wells!! He has allowed just 3 earned runs in his last 3 games (21 innings)
  21. not to throw a jinx up in the air but the starting pitching has turned around from what it was in late july to couple weeks ago. Matt Clement in his last 5 starts is 2-0 with a 2.18 ERA. David Wells in his last 3 starts against Kansas City, Detroit and Baltimore has allowed a total of 3 earned runs and both of them have started to go later into games. Wakefield, though giving up 4 runs on homeruns by Tampa Bay, had settled down retiring last 16 batters he faced. Bronson's last start was a quality one going 7 innings giving up 4 runs. And yes even Curt started to turn things around, last 3 innings of work against Tampa Bay had allowed just 1 hit
  22. oh no!! one game is going to f*** up millar's power, dude give it a break. tito will give them an equal share of time with them both being hot. Besides all that, shouldnt they just send down Petagine to Pawtucket? the guy isnt needed anymore
  23. 6 straight hits, 5-0--johnny whyd you leave 2nd base??
  24. 5s traight hits!! men on 1st and 3rd again with no outs
  25. mosox you need any more questions from olerud!! 3-0
