  1. And yet Jon Lackey, Jason Bay, Matt Holliday remain on the market... As well as Rafael Soriano and Mike Gonzalez
  2. The Yankees have decided to bid on Halladay, not big of a surprise tho. But Jon heyman has the Red Sox as the favorites
  3. Um I doubt they gave him a potential 3 years/$18 million contract to be their utility infielder Wait you forgot when he was clamoring for the Sox to get Kenji Johjima to be their starting catcher
  4. Like the signing better. Recent posts of it being $9 million a year were bogus. Its 2 years/$10 million, option year is $6 million
  5. http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/sp_bb_red_sox06_12-04-09_TQGM6OD_v3.2d802b9.html Dustin Richardson wants one of the vacant spots in the bullpen to be his
  6. I didnt see that you had replied to Gom's post... It was a 4 minute gap in between mine and your post, not like it was an hour's gap
  7. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10471160/Sources:-Mariners-lead-race-to-sign-3B-Figgins Didnt see this mentioned anywhere. The Mariners have emerged as the front runners for Chone Figgins. The deal could be 4 years, more than $30 million. They are also said to be making a strong push for Jason Bay as well. Suzuki, Figgins, Bay at top of the order if that were to happen
  8. Sure he wasnt trusted to pitch late in games... but to get a sub 2.50 ERA (60 games) from your middle reliever in the AL East is rare to come by
  9. This is coming from a Yankees fan who puts number of Yankee prospects above all other prospects
  10. I have heard the Sox say they are interested in Bobby Crosby, and told Jamey Carroll that they will be keeping tabs on him
  11. I think with Scutaro being locked up for 2 years (option for 3rd), it gives time for Iglesias (20 years old) rather than Lowrie. Wouldnt be surprised to see Lowrie be included in any packages
  12. I also think that one of them comes to Boston. But I think Soriano is most likely. Mike Gonzalez's agent is Boras and Im sure he will be touting him as a closer to teams
  13. On defense, Drew isnt one to dive for balls. But still a good number of times I swear the ball is going to drop, then he runs from out of nowhere and non chalantly catches it
  14. Recent reports had the Sox wanting Lowrie to play in Triple A this season. Wonder who will end up being the backup infielder.
  15. Since 2005, the Sox will have committed $95 million ($104 including mutual option) to Rent A Wreck, Julio Friggin Lugo, and Marco Scutaro. Hope Jose Iglesias is the answer for a long term shortstop.
  16. Just like Alex Gonzalez, the Sox told Saito we'd like to sign you to a lesser deal but not anytime soon.
  17. Plus Blanco threw out 40% of baserunners this past season
  18. Wow great start to the offseason, maybe Hermida will end up being our starting left fielder as well...
  19. Yeah a potential 4 year/$24 million deal to his age 38 season is pretty risky to say the least
  20. Cross Placido Polanco off, not like it mattered haha http://zozone.mlblogs.com/archives/2009/12/polanco_close_to_three-year_de.html Phillies quickly sign him to be their 3rd baseman, 3 years/$18 million with a mutual option for a 4th year. Earlier reports had it being 2 years $10-12 million
  21. Molina & Blanco behind the plate would be quite the upgrade over this past season's Brian Schneider & co.
  22. I just got this feeling in my gut that Halladay is going to New York
  23. Ken Rosenthal on "Hot Stove" was adamant that Scutaro is going to the Red Sox.
