  1. Anyone up for a betting pool: When will Pavano actually start pitching this season? per rotoworld
  2. Yeah Halsey was good against the Sox the few # of times he pitched against us ----------------------------- The Rangers have made a couple of last minute trades The Mariners claimed off of waivers Blue Jays catcher, Guillermo Quiroz who never really could find a way to become their everyday starter
  3. True the way I see it The Yankees are the "Red Sox of 2005". They have the best offensive lineup that needs to support the starting staff thats been given. Look where the Sox's offense had carried the team with no Schilling & no real closer. The Yankees on the flipside have Mariano which saves NY a bundle. I project 93+ wins for them this year
  4. Foxsports contradicts themselves a good number of times Ken Rosenthal has the Blue Jays Dayn Perry has the Red Sox winning it all. Im not surprised by Rosenthal's quote about the Red Sox "could win 80, could win 100"
  5. The Marlins are rumored to continue the firesal by dealing off their ace Dontrelle Willis by mid-season
  6. I am pumped, thank you ORS for you have made my day
  7. Welcome to the site, I hope you have a good time posting here.
  8. As of now, there will be no trade. Mohr, like Graffanino, has become a favorite of mine but there isnt room for him on the team. Dustan Mohr has decided to accept the Triple A Pawtucket assignment rather than become a free agent. "I want to be a Red Sox. I intend to be a Red Sox" http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060330&content_id=1375566&vkey=spt2006news&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos
  9. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/46897 Since this is coming from theonion.com, of course its candid fodder. But a good read nonetheless
  10. Surprise here, Sox fans pick Red Sox. The Yankee fans are picking the Yankees 3 days away until we can get this baseball going!!
  11. how about we never ripped Bill Mueller... Hence goes along with that we dont assasinate every player that leaves. Like in that thread I'll ask again, come back with actual links to posts of Sox fans on here saying that they are 100% glad he's gone Recent Sox leaving: Arroyo, Mueller, Millar, Pedro, Lowe, Graffanino, Mirabelli, Renteria and Millar are going to get standing ovations when they return to Fenway. No doubt in my mind. Damon? Of course he's now the enemy, pretty much why Ive been bashing him your "quotes" (opinions not facts) accuse all Sox fans of booing every single player that leaves the Sox, not being loyal, bandwagon fans, etc. Get off your high horse.
  12. Whatever dude, why are you surprised that your opinion is not being bought here on a Red Sox forum. Its laughable at the extremes you try to go to, lecture posts a good number of times. Tough s*** for you if we are having optimism about our team/certain players. EDIT: "SchillingouttheKs" you hit the nail on the head. He indeed made a thread about Bronson being backstabbed. He also goes into details of how we are disloyal to every single player that has left the Red Sox... even Bill Mueller. Im still scratching my head about that one http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5648
  13. I dont see anywhere that the Sox will be afraid to let the batters hit the ball. If so refute your "cold-hard evidence". The staff is capable of producing a lot of groundballs, in that effect say hell to the best defensive infield of at least the division. Schilling was bad because he was hurt for just about the whole season. It didnt help matters that he gained weight, making it harder to push off of that ankle. He has since lost weight that was needed and is producing a great stride off of the ankle. He will be better Yes Wakefield only threw well to Mirabelli in recent past. But Josh Bard has emerged as the best man to catch for Wake, the stats prove themselves as Wake has been effective this spring. The communication has also been instant. Time will tell if it carries over into the regular season. I do believe Wakefield will still give the commendable 12-15 wins, 4.25-4.50 ERA
  14. I agree about Baltimore. You hear that Kevin Millar is ready to act as an emergency catcher if need be? haha how many stolen bases will be off of him with that arm of his
  15. Vazquez in U.S. Cellular Field... Red Sox, Yankees, and Rangers lineups see that as a HR derby
  16. Hey its always fun to think about getting the better part of trades Yes Terry Ryan is a moron, he deemed Ortiz already reaching his peak and that $2 million was too much to pay for him. Also his team's offense this season will be just as bad as last season. Ryan did nothing in the regard in the offseason.
  17. Hey if they offer Lowell for Baker, that would be a great trade. It would also give added insurance in the pitching staff. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7533
  18. I just cant wait, tension is building up inside me. Im even going to have goosebumps when they announce the new Sox roster along the 1st or 3rd base line. Glad to get this frustrating offseason over and done with. 3 days until the baseball opener, so I can get a quick fix with that. Cmon Guardians beat the Chi Sox!!
  19. Alright, Papelbon strikes out the side in the 7th Yes Arroyo is doing a commendable job. Though interested to see if he could do the same against Boston in the regular season (whenever that will be), plus having Ortiz & Varitek in the lineup (both out today). Also Manny not staying in there for just 4 innings ---------------------------- today's stats from the Reds shutout of the Sox 4-0. Their 2nd straight loss, spring record is now 8-19-1. Wakefield with his last start of the spring closed out as the Sox's best starting pitcher in the grapefruit league games. He pitched 4 solid innings allowing 1 run on just 2 hits while striking out 3. Timlin, Tavarez, and Papelbon followed with 3 shutout innings. Tavarez did have location issues as he did load the bases. Papelbon was effective striking out the side. DelCarmen's struggle issues had continued today. Offense... there was no offense. The Sox could only muster 3 singles (Crisp, Lowell, Youkilis)
  20. hey yeszir, any chance you can utilize that new members must have a certain ammount of posts until they are able to make threads of their own? Just a thought
  21. What reliable sports reporter has indicated that Tavarez & Seanez could be splitting duties if Foulke falters? Its just an opinion, nothing more. Moreso it would be a split of Timlin/Papelbon until Hansen is done with his limited Triple A experience. Laughable to say the least the Sox would even be considering giving Seanez save opportunities. He's a middle reliever for the Sox at best Yes Papelbon deserves to be in the rotation. But as indicated by Tito couple of days ago, Papelbon & Timlin will be the main setup men for Foulke to start off the season. No doubt that Papelbon will take the next clear open spot -------- About Schilling, yseterday's fastball 90-91 and at sometimes reached 95. Throughout spring training its been consistent in the 93-95 range. He's going to do just fine, him going to the pen is simply not going to happen again in his career.
  22. True which is why I said that Wells will take DiNardo's spot on April 12, effectively sending him back down to Pawtucket.
  23. With Graffanino leaving the team, Coco Crisp has discarded #12 for the #10 which he wore in his 4 seasons in Cleveland.
