  1. trade idea here The San Diego Padres are all but ready to deal off 1st baseman Ryan Klesko, their main concern is relief pitching. Klesko could be a good lefty bat off the bench. Rudy Seanez was a solid set up man for them especially in PETCO Partk. Both sides win :dunno: http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/padres/20060711-9999-1s11padres.html
  2. Well we now know who will take Jason Johnson's roster spot, Wily Mo Pena is set to return on Thursday. We will probably end up seeing Willie Harris DFAd/sent to minors for whom ever is starting the 5th game http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=147818
  3. 2947 career K's to date http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/4267/career;_ylt=AtQIGrrcPwiqEIoxPZ4TUGeFCLcF
  4. Curt getting win #200. That curtain call after the game, still packed, for Schilling just gave me goosebumps Now towards the 2nd half, Red Sox Nation awaits for his 3,000th punch out. IMO he is just 53 away
  5. Of course an honorable mention here Best mojo- Red Sox Rooter
  6. A stat has been dished out on weei, Tek's avg is .221 since his september slump yuck, its beyond me how he is the 6 & sometimes 5 hitter in the lineup
  7. Yessss Im going to what wouldve been his next start. Game 1 vs the Royals next Monday. Damn good seats behind the dugout, thanks SFOC Why a Royals game some of you may ask? Well Ive got to give Tony G & Mienky their due in first game back at Fenway Park since being a Red Sox
  8. whew! Just another gaffe on Foxsports then
  9. :what: Looking at foxsports mlb page, and well its showing Ozzie's lineup for the All-Star game... 1. Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez 2. David Ortiz 3. Mark Loretta 4. Alex Rodriguez 5. Derek Jeter 6. Vladimir Guerrero 7. Magglio Ordonez 8. Ichiro Suzuki 9. Pitcher Maybe its just me but Ichiro & Mahk would be much more formidable at the top to set the line for the sluggers. Has Pudge ever led off the game before?
  10. Even after a crushing 19 inning loss, the Sox still find themselves as the 3rd best team in baseball and top of the AL East with 3 games ahead of NY. At this point last season, the Sox had 5 less wins and were 2 1/2 games up. I see them having a very good 2nd half Red Sox Mid-Season Awards MVP-- Comeback Pitcher-- Comeback Position Player-- Cy Young-- Best Glove -- Best Catch-- Biggest Disappointment of a Pitcher -- Biggest Disappointment of a Position Player -- --------------------------------------------------------------- Predictions of the 2nd half awards
  11. Didnt Papelbon's first save come against Texas during Beckett's first start of the season? It turned out to be a pitchers duel and it was decided by a 2-run HR in the 6th inning by Trot that gave them the 2-1 lead.
  12. Also he would bring in more of a threat on the basepaths
  13. Anything close to the cy young season of Eck's 0.61 ERA season, it would be hard for voters to easily dismiss
  14. essence of Rivernator
  15. He has still some way to go to realize that AL lineups will be sitting on his fastball, just a matter of time. A flyball pitcher being dominant at Fenway Park is very encouraging. He isnt a free agent until the end of the 2007 season so still time for Sox to evaluate him at what type of contract he deserves
  16. they get the white sox after the all-star break
  17. It was only a matter of time until he would connect for one, good job there Shopp  http://cleveland.Guardians.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/index.jsp?c_id=cle
  18. 5 starts this year for the young lefty 1-2 record with a 2.78 ERA 22.2 innings, 18 Hits, 8 Runs (7 ER), 15 Walks, 28 Ks His K ratio per 9 is looking very good, like most rookies just has to work on his command.
  19. updated stats .304 avg, .380 obp, 20 Doubles, Triple, 6 HRs, 34 RBIs, 32 Runs, 27 Walks, SB 2 errors, 11 passed balls
  20. With Loretta having a contract year and approaching the age of 35, I do believe that Pedroia is setting himself up to be the 2007 opening day starter. Dont get me wrong because Ive been a Loretta supporter since the day he was traded here. Even backing him up when people on here were asking for a trade of a 2nd baseman when Loretta had that brief slump in April. Loretta was brought in as a stopgap, give some time for Pedroia to find his groove. He is getting close to .300 now in Pawtucket. I have heard some comparisons be made to a younger version of Mark Loretta himself. In the minors he is known to hit around .300, play steady defense, solid gap power hitter, and what Theo loves best... patience of the strike zone
  21. Do you believe he's just making himself to be more of an enticing trade chip? We would just need him here to be a backup, but some team out there would give him more of a shot to be an everyday player :dunno:
  22. Still a better option than the .240 wielding Varitek ------------------------ EDIT: How about this nickname for today's starting pitcher?... Wayback Beckett
  23. not sure if its been mentioned, but couple of lines from Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum on Fox. Couple of many commentary that made me have a migraine Joe Buck: Josh Beckett is almost 26, and just turned 26 Tim McCarver: John Maine is the only player in major league history to have his last name be the same as the state with the correct spelling :what: ------------------------------------ EDIT: Ortiz of course continues to etch himself in Red Sox history, hard to believe its been 3.5 seasons Yesterday's homerun was his 150th in a Red Sox uni, already 15th best in franchise history
  24. The cold Varitek and the hot Gonzo are given days off today
