  1. Just because Clement is moving along nicely in his rehab doesnt mean he will have corrected his pitching woes. Its really all just mental. Besides I really cant remember the last time I felt good going into any game with him on the mound. He has found ways to fail in big games the Sox have put him into the past 2 seasons. Cant see any credibility he deserves to last beyond the end of this season. According to WEEI, he is expected to go to Florida or Pawtucket next week. If all goes well, he'll be back with the Sox before the All-Star break.
  2. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=441346 Its been reported now that the Brewers sent a scout to watch the Yankees' Philip Hughes, adding fuel to the rumor that Yankees are interested in acquiring Carlos Lee. Personally I feel it would be a bad move on Cashman's part. Hughes is looking like a bonafide pitching prospect that could be a #2 or 1 someday. Besides you guyys already have enough offense to carry the rest of the season
  3. Keep it going RSR ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4. This pic was too priceless I had to post it here http://www.jrulz.com/Sports/Pics/yankees-snickers.gif
  5. Our starting rotation of Schilling, Beckett, Wakefield & Lester is just simply one of the best out there in baseball. Sox will be set once they find a decent #5 guy that can keep the team in the games
  6. Papelbon is projected to have an Eckersley type of season. The fact that he is still considered a rookie is all the more impressive. Ecks won a Cy Young with a 0.61 ERA I believe
  7. f*** him for speaking for myself. Pedro will undoubtedly get the standing ovation he deserves He also predicted that Damon would get a rocking standing ovation. He might be from Boston, but that doesnt mean he knows how Red Sox fans think. Right on about Wakefield. I went to the 2004 home opening game and it was pretty loud with cheers at Fenway when Wakefield's name was announced. How about Graffanino's return to Fenway last October after he made that costly error? standing ovation. He's not just ripping the newcomer fans but really the entire population of Red Sox fans. Have fun eating your crow Gammons, hope you choke on it
  8. Mike Lowell is signed through next season, very good bet he stays with the Sox through then. No need to rush this kid. A call up to Pawtucket could be coming for him sometime late this season.
  9. Eh in essence I see Dustin Pedroia as the next Loretta. Good soft hands while giving steady defense, potential to be .300 hitter, great patience of strike zone, not that much of HR hitter but can deliver good gap power Im not saying Pedroia's a sure bet to come right out of the gate but I dont see the harm in giving this kid a shot come 2007 Just want to reiterate a recent comment from Theo:
  10. At least Toronto lost, got the 4 game lead over them now 8 straight, RSR make it so. Maybe your mojo can give Curt his 10th win after 2 great starts going un-noticed The Ace Schil vs The POS Myers
  11. Sox improve their season record to 43-28. Season high 7 game winning streak. Season high 15 games above .500 The best game I have seen yet of Beckett in a Red Sox uni, only blemish was that 2 run HR. Argh he's heading for 30+ this season. Hope his new pitching motion will continue to subside the ammount of bad located fastballs. Beckett wins #50 of his career at age 26. Manny continues to break out for one of his big summer streaks Gonzalez at 51 consecutive errorless games, already a Red Sox record for a shortstop The team has gone 11 errorless games, setting a new Red Sox record.
  12. From the general manager Pat Gillick & manager Charlie Manuel "We arent even thinking about suspension or anything in that matter due to no official evidence" Ok... Cops show up at the scene outside, his wife is on the ground crying with a swollen face. Her and 2 nearby witnesses pointed him out right away. Granted, she did post his bail But yea theres no official evidence that he hit his wife
  13. Chad Spann is a 3rd baseman prospect in Double A Portland. He has rebounded nicely from what was a dismal 2005 season. http://soxprospects.com/players/images/spann.chad.jpg Age: 22 Born: October 25, 1983 Buena Vista, GA Height: 6-1 Weight: 195 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 5th Round, 2002 How Acquired: Draft High School: Southland Academy ETA: 2008 2006: .284 avg, .360 obp, 17 Doubles, Triple, 6 HRs, 32 RBIs, 31 Runs, 21 Walks, 1 SB
  14. Doubront's 1st start of the season in the Gulf Coast League 4 innings, 6 Hits, 4 Runs (3 ER), 2 Ks
  15. Without a doubt that POS wont be allowed to pitch Saturday. Myself, Im hoping he will pitch. If indeed so, get ready for a deserving chorus of the boo-birds. Im in section 26, Myers, targeting you. I have no respect for any man that gives his wife (or any woman) a swollen face.
  16. yes you do have to be a rookie to win the Rookie of the Year Award
  17. The same can be said for Beckett with his fastball consistent at 95+. Its all about location and him relying on his fastball too much
  18. Pedroia had a 3 for 5 performance last night with a Double & 2 RBIs. He has now upped his avg to .290
  19. Jsinger noted again that the Braves have no need for Pedroia with them already having Giles and Betemit. Safe bet to scrap Pedroia from a trade with Atlanta
  20. Loretta's great off balance throw to 1st base to end the inning, had saved Tavarez from giving up 3 innings in his lone inning of relief Sorry Julian, but your role is mop-up... even though you do suck at it
  21. In 3 career starts against Florida, Johnson is 0-2 with a 6.46 ERA.
  22. Lester's 10 Ks has set a season high for a Red Sox starting pitcher, the previous was Curt's 9Ks vs Tampa Bay back in April
