    Wait, what? Not a big portion at all on this partuclar thread were bashers of getting Wily Mo Pena. A700 brought us a question, who would you rather see in right field, Trot or JD Drew? I have long been a supporter of Wily Mo and hoping to see him starting right field this April. As for the Boston media & other news outlets projecting Boston as Drew's most likely landing spot, Im not sure what the big picture Theo is envisioning here

    Britton was a promising reliever for the O's and they send him to their rival Yankees, even though they couldve easily gotten Wright cheap as a FA. They'll contend with Tampa Bay for last place once again

    The Sox last year were the bottom of the barrel in all categories for the #5 spot, Drew would be the best fit there and provide more protection than Lowell, Varitek & Trot did there last year. Also if Lugo is going to be acquired by Boston, look for him to be favored to be the leadoff hitter. The aquisitions of Lugo & Drew would make the Sox more comfortable dropping Youk where he could help solidify the bottom of the order. Much like in the hey-day of Bill Mueller. 1. Lugo ss 2.     Its best to just forget the posting fee guys. It doesnt even matter into their salary cap. This money is from the owner's pockets, doesnt really affect additional spending on other players whatsoever. The revenue alone of the hype of Matsuzaka to Boston will more than make up for the Sox supposedly are set to pay for him. Think of all the tourism the city of Boston will get, and the Sox FO could swindle a way to have NESN be broadcast in Japan for a fee

    Sanchez is still one of the top 10 starting pitcher prospects in the game. 2006, in Double A he had a 1.76 ERA to go along with 86 Ks in 71.2 innings. He was rightfully so promoted to Triple A where he had a 3.86 ERA to go along with 43 Ks in 51.1 innings. The Triple A stats are skewed dute to the fact he had a "tired arm" nearing the end of the season as most pitching prospects do tend to have.

    It would make no sense for the Red Sox to just trade away Matsuzaka, the posting fee alone is supposedly close to $45 million out of their own pockets. That agressiveness constitues no indication that they intend to trade him. Besides you can not trade a free agent signing until halfway through his 1st season with the team. This is all moot anyway as the Sox wont trade away a coveted player that they have spent so much time analyzing & pushing hard to get

    Im just taking this with a grain of salt but cant help thinking about an opening day rotation of Schilling, Beckett, Matsuzaka, Papelbon & Wakefield Since this fee doesnt factor into the salary cap, Theo is looking like he's going to be a no holds barred GM this offseason. Names like Julio Lugo, Justin Speier (top setup man on market), incentive deal toward Eric Gagne, Akinori Iwaumura, even a try at J.D. Drew have been mentioned by Boston's Sean MacAdams
