  1. If Arod stay in NY, it will be a media circus for him every day beiginning in spring training. Even more pressure will be mounted on him from the NY fans, media, and even team mates to get it together. He's in line to have a nervous break down
  2. Foulkie rebounded very nicely coming back from the DL and was probably the best reliever who wasnt closing games out the last 2 months of the season. Im thinking he could be in line for a comeback year in 07 & reclaim the closer's role EDIT: Here is the current Sox roster (players locked up for 07) Another EDIT: Give me a break, I just woke up at that time. I only pulled a 12 hour night at work Catcher- Jason Varitek 1st Base- Kevin Youkilis DH/1st base- David Ortiz 2nd Base- Dustin Pedroia 3rd Base- Mike Lowell Left Field- Manny Ramirez Center Field- Coco Crisp Right Field- Wily Mo Pena Utility- Eric Hinske David Murphy? Starting Pitchers Curt Schilling Josh Beckett Jonathan Papelbon Tim Wakefield Bullpen Craig Breslow Craig Hansen (should start season in Triple A) Manny Delcarmen Mike Timlin Foulke? (still has that player option of $3.5 million he can activate)
  3. Game 3 Info: Series: Tied 1-1 Date: Tuesday, October 24, 2006 First Pitch: 8:05 pm ET Venue: Busch Stadium, St. Louis, Missouri TV: FOX Starting Pitchers: http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_425146.jpg http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_112020.jpg #29 Nate Robertson 1-1, 5.91 ERA #29 Chris Carpenter 2-1, 3.70 ERA --
  4. Alrighty, Jamie Moyer's contract could be worth as much as $14 million if he stays healthy for a certain ammount of time. This is for a soft-tossing lefty who will be nearing 46 at the end of 2008 season. http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports/15833910.htm
  5. Sheffield would be a hard sell to teams. Cashman would have to accept a trade of low-impact players and take on a considerable share of $13 million that is owed to him next season. It would be cheaper & less of a headache altogether to just buy out his option year
  6. Spann's biggest goal this offseason is to improve his defense If he does that and continues his offensive rebound as was seen in Double A this year, he's looking like a Sept 07 call-up so far
  7. I have to agree with the other posters Arod has gotten much harsh treatment this past season from the NY media and yes his own Yankees fans. Yeah I guess all the numerous times where Arod got "put his head on a stake" type boos booming from Yankee Stadium came from what, Sox fans wearing NY gear? I dont as well get how you are being so frustrated that Sox fans are having their fun at a Yankee player who cant do well in the spotlight. Utterly shocked that happened amidst the biggest rivalry in the history of sports
  8. The Phillies have locked up Jamie Moyer for 2 more years worth $10.5 million. Ahem, he will be turning 44 next month. Is he worth that much money? http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2006/10/23/moyer_signs_2_year_extension_with_phils/
  9. The offseason hasnt even started up yet, I need to know how the team will look like come opening day
  10. Game 2 Info: Series: Cards lead 1-0 Date: Sunday, October 22, 2006 First Pitch: 8:23 pm ET Venue: Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan TV: FOX Starting Pitchers: http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_213711.jpg http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_121386.jpg #36 Jeff Weaver 2-1, 2.16 ERA #37 Kenny Rogers 2-0, 0.00 ERA --
  11. Youk was moved from 3rd to 1st out of necessity due to the fact of the Sox taking on Lowell in the Beckett deal.
  12. And one of those stars was Pedro Martinez, whom the Sox made a very smart decision on letting him walk. Compensation for losing Pedro is now the Sox's top pitching prospect, Clay Bucholz
  13. Remember its from rotoworld. The writers of that site like to add in their commentary after reporting sports news I do agree with you, good thing Sox were able to capitalize on compensated draft picks and acquire some of our top prospects
  14. I thought it was evident that Youk is in line to be the starting 1st baseman or 3rd come opening day. Any tidbits that it would be otherwise?
  15. Scaffolds, any chance you know of Sox being tempted to drop Abe Alvarez from the organization altogether? There's just no hope for this guy as currently he is set to begin the 07 season in Pawtucket, where he has been since 2004 I believe Just use him as a throw-in in one of the offseason's trades and say adios!

  18. A part of me is rooting for a 4 game sweep so the offseason can officially start :dunno: . That happens 2 weeks after the victor is decided
  19. Im starting to hear rumblings about Akinori Iwamura, a 3rd baseman slugger who is close to being posted. With Matsuzaka taking up all the talk, could the Sox try & swoop in on him? This past season he hit .311 with 32 HRs, 77 RBIs http://www.japanball.com/news.phtml?id=8146

  22. Its one of those heard from a friend of a friend of friend, etc. stories. Anyone back in younger school years play that game called "Telephone"? Until I hear otherwise from a valid news source, Beckett is good to go
