  1. Blah wake me up when the f***ing snow is gone Just heard on CBS news we could be getting 6 inches Thursday night
  2. You sure about that Coco? Seattle Beckett Matsuzaka Wakefield Anaheim (I will never call them Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) Tavarez Schilling Beckett Matsuzaka Toronto Wakefield Tavarez Schilling (Out of all the trouble we've had with Toronto last 2 seasons, Wakefield & Schilling have just had 1 start each vs Toronto since 2005. Makes you think) New York Beckett Matsuzaka Wakefield EDIT: Not related but I just read some cool quips from Gordon Edes Its going to be thrilling to see the Sox play in "1967" uniforms, interesting also that we will be seeing Ken Macha as a studio analyst for the pre-game and post game commentary
  3. The Pats did retain Sauerbrun? Huh all signs were that wasnt the case because they aready have Josh Miller, interesting BTW: Thus far hands down the Pats & Broncos have had, in my opinion, the best offseasons... and the draft hasnt even happened yet.
  4. Still 3 years/$15.5 million for a backup outfielder? Whose to say he would be all for becoming a player on the bench? Articles I read about him this spring, he seems like he's getting egged on. His best asset would be trade bait to a team that would give him an everyday starting gig. Both sides then would be happy
  5. not baseball related but the saints had played their "home" game at the Meadowlands (home of the Jets)
  6. What uh oh? Is that supposed to make it sound bad for Sox fans? Doubtful anyway he's going to be playing in Portland the whole season, call me shocked if he isnt called up by September
  7. Sox fans arent just looking at 1 start... we're also looking at countless times he pitched last year where he didnt keep the team in the game. He walked a crazy ammount of batters too, 44 in 98.2 innings pitched (1.56 WHP) and gave up 110 hits in that span (opposing .293 avg). So far this year he's walked 5 in 4 innings (2.75 WHP) and 6 hits (opposing .333 avg) Be my guest if you are encouraged to see him make these starts in April: Angels Blue Jays Blue jays Yankees
  8. I did not say that Minnesota's lineup was horrible. But it doesnt rank up with Boston, Baltimore, Toronto, Cleveland, Chicago, Detrot, Anaheim in the AL. Not because he's a Yankee... but its hard for me to see him as a guy to trust with the ball every 5th day who hasnt pitched since June 05 from an array of injuries. Also including not even informing his team of a car accident he was in
  9. Next test for Pavano, do it against a top 5 lineup
  10. Jacko were you really stressing about the bullpen in the 9th inning vs the Twins?
  11. Damn Ellsbury, me like
  12. Game 2 the Sox still have the advantage as Felix Hernandez will be coming off a long lay over. He was the opening day starter on April 2
  13. Pavano crusing on 33 pitches thru 3 innings, almost on pace to pitch the most a Yankee starter has gone this season... 5.1 innings
  14. Keep in mind also that he was dealing with a sore wrist throughout 2006. We're talking about the range of 15 +/- HRs
  15. Odd the Twins dont have Cirillo in for tonights game
  16. I just thought you guys would get a kick out of this. At redsox.com they have that weekly email bag thing. Take a gander at what this reporter for the site said about Tavarez
  17. Then whats the use of having him sit on the bench for probably the next 156 games of the season?
  18. As much as some might say that the Sox have now started to overwork Papelbon for a 5 out save... He still threw just 15 pitches and this is only his 2nd appearance this season, he also has a day off tomorrow.
  19. I know you still think Beckett will have 2006 line stats
  20. settle down Jacko. Theo is not that much of a dunce to trade away 2 stud pitchers for an aging jackass reliever
  21. KTF, Ellsbury can play center & center only. A signing of Jones or Ichiro would negate his future plans with the Sox unless they want to lug him around as a backup outfielder. Tito promised Wily Mo he would get 400 ABs... ok when will this happen? Through the first 6 games, he has had a total of 2 plate appearances. If he were to stay with the Sox, I could see him being prepped to take over for Manny after the 08 season If Crisp keeps going at the pace he's at, he could find himself being shopped around to teams during the deadline
  22. Again its looking bad moreso because how Tito has been managing the bullpen. It was Tito who forced his own hand to call on Papelbon. Pineiro walks the first 2 batters and then up comes lefty Kenny Lofton, why not call Javier Lopez? Of course, like weve been saying tonight, Donnelly shouldve been the better bet over Pineiro
