  1. Francona in his red sox tenure has always been sketchy about pinch hitters. He \wants to stay with his lineup during the whole game
  2. Wily Mo shouldnt have even attempted to catch it. Pedroia was clearly calling for it and had it at hand Kevin Youkilis is K'd on a pitch at the same location vernon Wells got a ball count in his favor. Cmon guys give him some frigging run support, dont make him "Wakefield 05-07"
  3. Damn 2nd 10 K performance in his first 3 games, 24 Ks thus far in 19.1 innings pitched But he needs something called run support, a total of 5 runs to date
  4. Sox down on 7 pitches, tell me again why Coco is hitting in front of Ortiz?
  5. Dice K strikes out the side!! 9 Ks through 5 innings, at 95 pitches so 6th innings is a good possibility
  6. that mystery "strike 3" pitch to Vernon Wells has rattled Matsuzaka. 4 stright batters have faced (hit, walk, hit, walk)
  7. Coco felt Wily Mo breathing down his neck, he got a hit from it. More hits are needed for that Coco, but at least good to see you make contact
  8. Wily Mo!!!!!! Give him at bats, he will produce
  9. Great move Tito putting Crisp in the 2 hole, Coco is now 4 for 37, 0 for his last 16 3 pitch K, I expected much
  10. My take is that Pedroia should be batting 2nd, not Coco. At least he makes contact, hard to strike out, and takes a lot of pitches. This is the lineup featured on yahoo's box score. Yeaa so Youk is now in the 5 hole, with Coco taking over in the #2 spot :thumbdown Great move Tito, dont put a struggling batter in an important spot such as in front of Ortiz/Manny. I just dont see the logic
  11. http://www.nashvillecitypaper.com/index.cfm?section=33&screen=news&news_id=55690 Vince Young will grace the cover Madden 08. Will he break the "curse" that has befell others who have been on the cover?
  12. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-bluejays-injuries&prov=ap&type=lgns I know its been mentioned before but Reed Johnson is also going on the DL. He will have back surgery and not be back until July. Prospect Adam Lind will take his place. Another hit to their offense is that Troy Glaus is also being placed on the DL. He has a bone spur in his left heal and a sore hamstring, we will see a platoon of Jason Smith/John McDonald
  13. I just saw on NESN this morning thats the matchup, Tavarez vs Halladay
  14. Haha yea "How do you like that Mel Gibson? We got a Jewish 1st baseman!!"
  15. Thats if Tavarez hasnt been replaced by then. His next start isnt looking promising thus far... Tavarez vs Halladay which is on my birthday:thumbdown God willing they call up Hansack if we see another outing like Texas
  16. Boston currently has the best pitching staff in the American League 7-4, 2 saves, 2.72 ERA (11 games) 96 innings, 75 Hits, 30 Runs (29 ER), 6 HRs, 28 Walks, 76 Ks Starting Rotation 7-4, 2.67 ERA 64 innings, 54 Hits, 20 Runs (19 ER), 16 Walks, 47 Ks Bullpen 2 saves, 3.60 ERA 25 innings, 21 Hits, 10 Runs, 12 Walks, 29 Ks
  17. Boston- Ichiro or Andruw Jones or Johan Santana giving up a package of Wily Mo & Coco Crisp Yea that should get the job done easily
  18. 3 game sweep!! 7-4 record Beckett continues to pitch solid, next up is the Yankees. Yes he did have 2 forgettable bad starts facing New York but he also had 2 quality start wins last year that not many remember. If his 3 games are any indication I think he'll be worth watching the game Lugo had the best defense today, through the first 11 games he has committed just 1 error. He also went 2 for 4, him leading off has been a spark to this year's lineup The homerun off of Snyder in the 9th aside, the bullpen has looked better than I was thinking in ST. Tomorrow is Matsuzaka facing the Blue Jays, "schillingouttheKs" keep it up man
  19. Beckett's strong 6 inning performance comes to and end, 6 innings, 6 Hits, 1 Run, 1 Walk, 5 Ks-- Helped by another Angels brainfart on the bases by Kendrick trying to get to 2nd base. Nice fake throw by Youk by the way to confuse Howie even more Beckett is about to become 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA 18 innings, 3 Runs, 10 Hits, 1 HR, 5 Walks, 18 Ks EDIT: With back to back K's Okajima is looking impressive just like I said before the season started. Even when he allowed a homerun on his 1st major league pitch, I knew he'd settle down right away
  20. I want some more of Lugo please! Haha I always dreaded him when the Sox played the D-Rays because he was such the Sox killer. Now I love him as he has had a great start to his Red Sox career.... maybe he'll stay longer than 1 season
  21. Beckett is f***ing crusing! He has still remained true to his ST statement that he will stray from relying on the fastball. The bats have also come alive since coming home
  22. Beckett wasnt throwing intentionally at Vladimir. All power pitchers try to mark their area up & in to team's power sluggers. Very premature for warnings to be given out after the first out
  23. Giving up a grand slam to a utility player hurts more than a slugger hitting one out. See Josh Beckett allowing Shin-Soo Choo of the Guardians to get a grand slam
  24. Little Marco Scutaro does it again to the Yankees!! I believe he has had 1 or 2 other walkoff hits facing them as well
