  1. Ohio State is getting destroyed. Down 17 at the half...
  2. Wow... Texas A&M got kind of screwed there. How do the refs figure a full second came off the clock there? I'd have gone 2.9. Still a tough situation to be in, but it's noticably more time to work with than 2 seconds.
  3. Oooh boy... Acie Law IV just missed a layup that would've given 'em a three point lead with about 50 seconds left. Great games tonight, so far. Kansas/Southern Illinois came down to the wire too.
  4. Of course he is. He won't be bigger than the NBA players, though. I think Emeka was just as much of a force defensively in college as Oden. More BPG and just as many shots altered. Same effect. I don't think size is everything -- but when size is a big part of why you're as good as you are, losing that advantage will be huge.
  5. He's not particularly dominant at the college level though, where he already has a huge size advantage over just about everybody. I don't think he's any better of a defensive player than Emeka Okafor was in college. He will not be as good as 'Melo, D-Wade and Lebron were in their rookie years.
  6. But the point is, even the Cavaliers missed the playoffs when they picked up Lebron. And they had Ilgauskus (an All-Star) and Carlos Boozer down low. And Oden's done nothing to suggest he'll be anywhere near as good as Lebron, Carmelo, and D-Wade were in their rookie seasons.
  7. I think I read somewhere that Jordan's been fined $15,000 just for talking about Durant in an interview.
  8. I've always thought that there's a chance that if 'Melo didn't win the Championship he'd be back. According to him, he intended to stay two years, but managed to accomplish everything he wanted to accompish in one.
  9. Because I would assume Oden's mother wouldn't be watching Durant play at the Big XII Tournament...
  10. The Nuggets may just be pulling their heads out of their asses. They destroyed the Suns 131-107. And their defense was extremely good. Four wins in a row, I think. I can't remember the last time the Nuggets beat a team this handily. I certainly can't remember the last time the Suns lost a game like this one...
  11. That really should've been an intentional foul on Oden there at the end. I don't mind that they didn't call it as such at the end of a game, though, but that was a two-handed shove -- not just a light foul like you usually see. Great, great game, though. There was no doubt that Ohio State would destroy 'em in overtime.
  12. I had GT too but I definetely had Winthrop over Notre Dame.
  13. And Demarcus Nelson is black.
  14. So Plummer did actually retire. Anyways, I'm not so sure that anybody cares but I'll share anyway. The Chargers are bringing back baby blue... kind of. http://i1.chargers.com/assets/174/32480_282wh.jpg
  15. Texas can play with anybody as long as Durant's on the court. You have to figure they have as much experience in close games and OT as anybody in the country. I have them beating Texas A&M in the Final Four and losing to Kansas in the Championship. Big XII is gonna represent come tourney time.
  16. Yeah, those comparisons are more about who their game resembles and not so much how good they'll be.
  17. Wisconsin Texas Texas A&M Kansas That's your final four, ladies and gentlemen. Kansas will be taking home the trophy.
  18. It's all about how you finish. And ending the season with two straight losses to two far inferior teams doesn't look good on your resume. Texas A&M could do it, SOTK, but I'm still picking Kansas. They're so deep and they can beat you in any number of ways. They've been on fire since their last loss, to Texas A&M.
  19. Kansas wins! Lock up a number one seed. I said it before in the other tourney thread and I'll say it again... Kansas is going to win the NCAA tournament.
  20. Two straight losses. The first one wasn't even close and was to a team that should barely be in the NIT. They should've cruised through that Pac-10 Tourney.
  21. Great signing since he was the best guy available but the Patriots still don't have a number one caliber receiver. Hope you guys have good doctors in the area -- has the guy ever played a complete season? But the Patriots have the cap room and they don't need to immediately improve anywhere else to be a contender so I do think it was a great signing.
  22. I was reading somewhere that he's been questioned by police for ten different incidents since he's been drafted.
  23. I know this isn't NBA related or anything... but this is amazing to me, so I wanted to share... http://youtube.com/watch?v=g3JrZut8GjY
