  1. Interesting note from the UCLA/USC rivalry. Both programs are interested in restoring the tradition where each team wear's their home uniforms for their annual game -- so obviously USC will wear their reds, UCLA will wear their light blues. However, since it's against the rules to wear your home uniforms on the road, USC will have to give up one timeout per half as a pentalty, which Pete Carroll is willing to part ways with. I think Carroll and Neuheisel have an agreement that the home team will call a timeout immediately to start each half so both teams only have two.
  2. Correct, though I've said it before and I'll say it again... Cassell's numbers in the Broncos games were above average... his play was not.
  3. He's played two good games out of, like, twelve. That's not impressive. And the good games were against teams that are completely incapable of defending the pass.
  4. The AFC East sucks.
  5. Oklahoma jumped Texas! Bad ass!
  6. That's pretty much how it goes. Yes, blame Randy Moss, guys -- that makes a ton of sense.
  7. This Oklahoma/Oklahoma State game is insane! Oklahoma up 61-41 with :25 left -- that offense is unstoppable. They just played their way to winning the South, in my opinion.
  8. Oregon is routing Oregon State, who with a win would clinch the Pac-10. Oklahoma's up 21-13 on Oklahoma State. I think a win puts Oklahoma in the Big XII Championship game -- especially if they win convincingly.
  9. Hope Texas Tech can beat Baylor -- tied at 28 late. A Baylor win gives Texas the Big XII South Championship, while a Texas Tech win makes it a three way tie should Oklahoma win. If Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State, I think that'd be enough to push them ahead of Texas. Texas fans will argue that since they beat Oklahoma they should win the South, but then, if that's the case, how can you justify putting Texas ahead of a one loss Texas Tech team? Controversy... I love it. Though this controversy isn't the the BCS' fault... it's the Big XII's fault for making the BCS a tie breaker. edit: TTU up 35-28 now.
  10. If you're going to a club in which you need a gun to feel safe, you probably shouldn't be in that club.
  11. Did everyone see that Stephen Curry was held scoreless last night? The other team apparently went into the game with no intention of winning, or trying to win, and just had a constant double team on Curry (whether he had the ball or not), allowing the rest of the team to essentially play 4 on 3. The coach seems pretty proud of this feat, saying nobody will remember that they lost by 30, but they'll instead remember that they held Curry scoreless. I wonder if he'll mention that on the resumé he'll probably be needing soon.
  12. I disagree in regards to Kansas likely being in the Sweet 16 this year... they got raped by the NBA draft, and this team is nowhere near the caliber they were last year. I think they'll finish 4th or 5th in the Big XII. I wouldn't have had them ranked to start the year. They're 'good', I guess... but they're not good by Kansas' standards. As for 'Cuse, I think Syracuse will finish 6th or 7th in the Big East, as UConn, Notre Dame, Pitt, Louisville, and Marquette are all better than the Orange.
  13. Those 3 games were against the 25th, 26th, and 28th best passing defenses in the league. #25 being, of course, the worst defense I've had the displeasure of watching on a week to week basis -- and who just got torched by Jamarcus freakin' Russell. He's gotten better, no doubt about it. But he needs to do it against a team that's proven they can stop the pass before I'll be sold that he's anything more than a capable back-up QB in this league. And QB Rating is a deceiving stat. We're not going to find a common ground here -- you consider a game in which a QB racks up completion % and yardage because his WR's can run with a ball a good game, I consider it something that any QB in the NFL could do if that's what was asked of them. It's great for moving the ball down field, it's not great for putting up points and getting the ball into the endzone, which is the point of offense. The Patriots are in a situation where there combination of talent, and the schedule they've played (which is plain awful) allows Please, quit acting like the Patriots running game is non-existant when it's in the top 1/3 of the league in yardage and average. He was managing the game against the Broncos... I'd be shocked if he threw more than 3 balls 10+ yards. He's not playing at Tom Brady's level, he's not playing at the Manning brothers' level, he's been about average, what you would expect from somebody throwing to the guy's he's throwing to.
  14. If you're going to say I didn't contribute, at least respond to my point which was that he's really only had three good games, and in one of them he wasn't even all that good. Take away those three games he has something like 4 TD's and 7 INT's in 8 games. And even the games in which the defense sucked, you'd have had a much better chance in if you had a QB who, outside of two games, had proven capable of winning games as opposed to not losing them.
  15. As do I. I'm sure there's a WR on the roster than makes Moss expendable too.
  16. You're posting privileges in this thread should be revoked because you're an idiot. He just torched two of the worst pass defenses in the league and suddenly he's better than the Manning brothers? It's debatable whether Brady is even better than either of the Manning brothers. 13 TD's and 8 picks and you're making plans to attend his HOF induction ceremony. Out of 11 games he's had about 3 good ones, and the rest he's been either bad, or about what you would expect from a backup. And that's giving him the Broncos game as a good one, when he was actually pretty mediocre.
  17. Right you are. 38-21 Saints.
  18. Ballgame. A good showing against a ranked team.
  19. Took a little bit to get going but UConn ended the half very well, and lead by 10, with the defensive pressure leading to a lot of easy baskets. My first look at UConn this year, and I like what I'm seeing. Very deep in the backcourt.
  20. You're actually right, now that I look into it. 7th round, though. Could've sworn we had signed him as an undrafted rookie. Jay Cutler kind of sucks. The only thing worse than Cutler's decision making is Mike Shanahan's play-calling.
  21. That sounds about right. Ugh... f***. Broncos suuuuck.
  22. Or that Brady was overrated to begin with? Not saying it's true -- just that it's entirely possible. And probably true.
