At the aspect that makes up exactly one half of the game, Kobe excels while Nash is abysmal. In fact, Kobe excels to the point where he's named one of the best defensive players in the league.
I've defended Kobe for the past two years. It's not about that, it's about Kobe being more valuable to his team.
And they ended the season relatively well in terms of how they played in games in the last month or so of the season.

Just saw on ESPN's bottomline that Kobe Bryant was named to the NBA All-Defensive First team. Not bad for a guy who's defense has declined because he "only focus' on scoring, now".
This news makes Nash winning the MVP award even more of a joke.
