  1. Wow... Milledge is really having trouble out there in Left.
  2. The NBA will be playing with a new ball next year. I think it will be introduced during the draft. http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/B000GHWS9S.01-AT26F6GZJEB06._SCLZZZZZZZ_V64024996_.jpg
  3. Yeah, I just saw that on another message board I frequent. It really is awful looking. Could be legit, being considering the logosondemand part... In order to subscribe to LogosOnDemand.net/NHL, you must already be a license holder with the National Hockey League. If you are not already a license holder, you must first contact them and complete the licensing process before subscribing. If you currently hold a license with the NHL, then you may subscribe to our site to obtain all the latest digital artwork. To become a subscriber, simply download the PDF file from the link below, fill out all contact and payment information, and fax it to (770) 612-0439. The form is an Acrobat file. However, considering that, I imagine that if you're a member of logosondemand.net and you do leak logos, there are some sort of penalties -- especially when a team is as set to wait to reveal their logos as the Sabres seem to be. That said, that is the Official Stylesheet that the NHL uses. But, the following was created by somebody on the forums of a graphic design, particularly sports logos, community I frequent to show that it'd be easy to fake... http://files.clarkrasmussen.com/board_posts/sabres.jpg So it could very easily be a fake.
  4. Yeah, they destroyed the Angels tonight. No way for Jose Mesa to blow that lead! 1.5 out of first!
  5. Well, those teams were always made up of some great individuals as well. They had all sorts of Hall of Famers in those 13 years.
  6. I'll agree 100% with you. People like to base the argument on rings and then forget about Bill Russell. Bottom line is that nobody has ever dominated the game like Wilt Chamberlain. And if not for that Celtics Dynasty, he'd have a handful of rings as well.
  7. ... I don't know anymore.
  8. I don't think so. I could be wrong, but saying it's six would be counting the team that currently gets the 16 twice, wouldn't it?
  9. In the tournament... anybody vs. UConn was competitive. Hell, NAU would probably have UConn on the ropes at some point like every other team they played at one point. I'm in favor of expanding by three teams, making their four opening round games instead of just one. The winners of those games would get to play the #1 seeds, obviously. Because, really, they're 2 or 3 teams that have a convincing argument that they deserved to get in every year. No more.
  10. Did Byung-Hyun Kim really shut out the Rangers today or was that game just a figment of my imagination?
  11. I think his comparisons from from Tony G's numbers in 2005, when he was .309/.366/.425. That compares very much to Loretta's numbers this year.
  12. Dolan has nothing. One of his things is that Larry Brown violated the part about talking to the media. Basically that consisted of the media asking Larry Brown a question as he left the arena or whatever and him saying something to the effect of "you know as much as I do."
  13. I see 'God' has been said already, so I'll continue with that and go with 'Lord Savior'
  14. Fortunately for the Mighty Ducks, the most recent newly unveiled uniforms that I've seen before this was the Oregon Ducks football teams uniforms, so these look incredible in comparison. That said, these things are complete garbage. The wordmark is awful, particularly when placed on the front of the uniform. The uniforms themselves look too much like the Penguins. Their were some pretty cool prototype logos, why they didn't go with one of these is beyond me. I never thought I'd want them to return to those Disney, eggplant and jade monstrosities. edit: I should add that I can't wait till September when the Sabres unveil their new stuff!
  15. Not like he wouldn't have gotten the money anyway. I'm sure he'd rather be coaching.
  16. Haha. Larry Brown completely deserves this for having one foot out the door everywhere he's been. He leaves the perfect job to step into his 'dream job', which ends up being a hellish nightmare where he gets fired after a year. I love it!
  17. So why do some personal achievements prove something while others don't? For instance, wasn't it you that tried to convince me that Kobe was a poor defensive player and that he made the NBA All-Defensive team based on name alone? There's no bigger name than Michael Jordan. Who are you to say that he didn't get some regular season MVP's on name alone? His teams, after all, didn't fair too poorly in his absence. They didn't win championships, but they were still one of the better teams in the league.
  18. If that Bulls team had split up after 3 or 4 years, Jordan wouldn't have 6 either. Besides, team accomplishments mean very little towards determining a single players ability. If you want to argue for the contrary, Bill Russell is the greatest of all time.
  19. Ok, Ozzie... http://wizbangblog.com/images/2005/10/white_sox_kiss.jpg
  20. 1,201 now.
  21. You're basing who has it easier on SIZE? They're two different positions! LeBron is taller, sure, but he's a SF, which means he's playing against other players of similar height. You're an idiot for even suggesting this. Kudos to D-Wade for taking his team to the playoffs that first year -- it didn't hurt that he came out of the abysmal Atlantic conference. 'Melo took his team to the playoffs in the much, much, much more difficult Western Conference... slobber all over his dick. It's been done before. It's not shocking in the slightest bit. Kobe, McGrady, Garnett. But nobody's had the immediate impact of Lebron James. Not even close. None of them were as good as they'd eventually become until into the fourth years of their career. The biggest parallel between Jordan and Wade right now is that they both had one of the NBA's 50 greatest players on their team for their Championship runs. If they don't get some help from the officials in games 3 and 5, we're talking about the World Champion Mavericks right now.
  22. This Ortiz guy's not bad!
  23. Could be. He gets the calls that only Jordan could possibly get from the officials. Don't get me wrong, I love Wade, but as somebody who didn't really care who won the series, it's not hard to see that he gets all sorts of calls. I'll say this. D-Wade is still 3 years older than LeBron, who will certainly improve in that time -- and I still believe that Lebron's the better player right now. If LeBron faced the same looks as D-Wade thanks to having Shaq down low, he'd have a ring too, if not two of them.
  24. This really is a fun team to watch. Only 1.5 out, I doubt anybody expected them to still be within reach of the Division lead at this point. In response to what they can do to counteract the thin air of Denver... what they've done at Coors Field for the past couple years is store the ball in a humidor to keep the moisture in the balls, which basically 'deadens' it.
  25. Yay! Go Whalers... err... Hurricanes! I love it when these non-traditional markets beat Canadian teams! I hope the Cup never leaves the Bible Belt (unless it's to make a stay in Colorado)!
