  1. Overall, Miami's passing game is much better than New Englands, though.
  2. Multi-quote? Brilliant!
  3. Your secondary is not nearly as good as it used to be. You shut down Lee Evans, but he's a 48 catch guy so far in his career, with JP Losman tossing him the ball and nobody to protect Losman. He'll be a great player, but he's not there yet. The LB's aren't nearly as good as they used to be. Seau isn't even a shell of his former self at this point in his career -- that was a desperation signing. The offense is one-dimensional without Branch. How confident do you feel about your passing games chances against the Broncos defense in week 3? As for the Seahawks, a first round pick for a man who hasn't even had 1,000 recieving yards or 5 TD's? Bad trade.
  4. Haha, Brandon Jacobs is a stud. A little off-topic, but me and my friend have a season going in Madden where we have our own teams and we eachplay as eachothers opponents... he traded for Brandon Jacobs because he's the strongest RB in the game and he's got 32 TD's by week 11 and averages about 200+ YPG. Ripping me apart. ... But I have the league MVP (so far), Seneca Wallace.
  5. He pushes off a lot, too, actually. Still, though... he makes some amazing catches.
  6. Maaan... Plaxico is goood.
  7. The Giants secondary isn't doing much to help you out with two dropped interceptions so far.
  8. What the f*** did Lavar Arrington just say during the introductions? Rather than say "Lavar Arrington. Penn State.", I believe he said "Mr. Nichols. School of hard knocks."
  9. Broncos lost to the Rams in a game that reminds me of last years week 1. Just in terms of how badly the Broncos played. The Rams can't honestly feel good about this game considering how the Broncos put it right in their lap. One plus, however, is that Denver's defensive was very impressive in allowing six FG's. I think only two of the FG's came on actual drives. The rest came when the Broncos turned the ball over and the Rams recovered and took possession already in FG range. I swear, the Rams average starting field position in the first half had to be at about the Broncos 30 yard line. Not a loss that really concerns me, though, especially after last years opening game. Edit: And we should have a thread dedicated completely to Peyton Manning commercials. The man's hilarious.
  10. Still tied... 24-24 this time. I've always wondered this... does anybody know why Fresno State has the green V on their helmets?
  11. I hope Denver's team atleast made a strong showing this season. *edit: Just checked the standings. I could've sworn Denver had a team... or atleast some sort of women's basketball team.
  12. Up by 24 and you do a fake punt from... what, you're own 40? I love Charlie Weis.
  13. If this game continues to go the way it has -- say Notre Dame wins by 24+ points -- does Notre Dame leapfrog USC and the loser of the Texas-Ohio State game back into #2? I think USC has a bye this week, right?
  14. I think it's spelled Samardzija, but who the hell knows? Yeah, he is a stud. That catch wasn't quite as impressive as the one against Georgia Tech, but that was just beautiful on both sides. Quinn made a beautiful throw and Samardzija made a great catch. 20-0 That drive just now to pretty much end the half was a beauty. Notre Dame looked unstoppable. Quinn was never rushed to make a throw on the entire drive -- that's a recipe for disaster for Penn State as you mentioned earlier.
  15. Two should-be picks at the goalline so far for Brady Quinn. There's not a point this season where he's looked particularly sharp.
  16. Yeah, they did. That may be a problem for Penn State this year. Notre Dame just recovered a fumble as well!
  17. Yeah, they will. It's not so bad that they lost to Rutgers... but 33-0? Just wait 'til they get into conference play.
  18. I'm watching, ORS. Didn't get to see the VaTech game, though. But woooow... Akron beat NC State?
  19. Make sure you let me know what gives you more of a headache... watching the team play or trying to read the numbers on their new uniforms from a distance.

  21. Here's another thing I've been thinking of... Gary Kubiak, the Texans coach, has been with the Broncos, behind Shanahan for about ten years. What are the odds he begins to implement Denver's zone blocking scheme in Houston? The old offensive line coach went to Atlanta and now they're the top rushing attack in the League. Who's to say it won't, over time, be the same case for Houston? If it is, he won't need a Reggie Bush type to be able to run the football successfully. There could be something to the fact that they picked up Ron Dayne, who is perfect for that system (ran it at Wisconsin)
  22. I, admittedly, haven't seen Williams play more than once or twice, so I can't comment on that too much. I'll agree with taking Ferguson over Bush. Goes along with my point that games are won in the trenches.
  23. I'll take a potentially great DE over a potentially great RB any day of the week. Football games are won and lost on the offensive and defensive lines. It's easier to come by a great RB than a great DE. If you can't protect your QB, and get to the other QB, you can't win football games... bottomline.
  24. Louisville RB, and potential Heisman candidate Michael Bush broke his leg this evening in the third quarter against Kentucky, ending his college career. Huge blow to Lousiville's chances to win the Big East.
  25. Thanks for that, MC. Last I'd heard was that the Patriots weren't sure of the severity of the injury.
