  1. I'm blacked out from watching this game. Anyone have any clue why I would be blacked out in Oregon?
  2. Faithful. It is the most in depth. I had a bizarre summer that year with a severe illness in my family and I had to do a lot of traveling and a lot of soul searching. The Red Sox were my escape that year (not like they aren't this year too, but it was more necessary that year), so having 2 people journal about each and every game makes that book pretty special to me.
  3. Did castig just say Jon Lester is pitching for Boston? I'm confused without television. I don't even know where to sit in my living room. EDIT: Oh, Leicster.
  4. You watching the game now ORS?
  5. yawn... so supposedly there's a game happening today and despite the 150+ dollars I've paid for MLBEI, and nearly the same amount for mlb.tv, I can't see it, lest it take away from my ability to enjoy "Inspector Gadget's Field Trip" and "Archie's Weird Mysteries". Thanks MLB. Thanks. (Okay, I'm done bitching now)
  6. how is this in the best interest of MLB to have the Sox blacked out on Saturday? EDIT: It isn't going to make me want to watch the Cubs/Phillies (or whatever game that is on here in 3 hours).
  7. so far it appears to be doing so. I thought mlbtv had worked out a deal that allowed fox games to be on? Annoying!
  8. Yeah, f*** this s***. There is no excuse for this game not being on mlb.tv.
  9. I really would have liked Pedroia in there and save Cora for possibly needing to pinch run in the 8th or 9th. Let the kid ride his good defense and hot bat, IMO.
  10. I want Pedroia. Leave the kid in there.
  11. Nice hitting by Drew, damn it.
  12. Wooo, one of god's Webgem-teasers. That would have been amazing.
  13. A walks as good as a hit* to a blind begger! *batsman
  14. WMP contemplating what he could do to be a better hitter.
  15. I hope you put a "walk clause" on your handjob contract. Perhaps a pants rubdown? Let me preempt you all now: TedWilliams101 started it!
  16. Uhhh, yeah, I don't know about the handjob there man. I mean, offer what you want, it ain't a promise I'm willing to make. I would offer a handSHAKE.
  17. Youk's double would have been a HR in any other park. Fenway taketh. Why wouldn't I want Wake? I would want Wake, but I think his season so far has been an anomoly. He's not suddenly a cy young pitcher after, what 13 years of not being one. He's a big gamer, he's an innings eater, he's healthy. But he comes with a crappy catcher (who happens to be very good with Wake) and the sox are going to need a legitimate replacement for Varitek sooner than later. I think they will be looking for flexibility. If that means Wake goes to the pen for the inevitable spot start, long relief, then fine. I think he'll do just about anything to be part of the team if need-be.
  18. Apparently he won a race last year.
  19. I mostly agree, but are you willing to not address a 2nd catcher for 3 more years? Wakefield takes up two positions on a 25 man roster.
  20. I can. Hughes is one of the better prospects in a few years as a pitcher. Hes got command and stuff and size and all of that good stuff. Buchholz has skyrocketed, especially given that he has only really been pitching for a few years. 117 K to 29 BB in Greenville last year, 23 K to 4 BB in Wilmington, 46 K and 4 BB this season with Portland in 34 IP. It is hard to know how high Buchholz's ceiling is, but he also supposedly runs about as fast as Jacoby Ellsbury. f***ing a!
  21. So are people still poo-pooing the notion that Pedroia was 2003 NCAA defensive player of the year? A few plays he's made the past few nights are ones that we would have shrugged at when Loretta missed them, saying "meh, it was a really tough play" and just accepting the fact that runs would score. Pedroia is making MANY tough plays look easy.
