  1. The seattle feed stayed on a little too long going to commercial, and you can hear the announcer: "DAMN! How good is that guy?!?!"
  2. There really aren't many others like him, are there? He's a special, special player.
  3. NOW you walk around the bases manny! f*** yeah!!
  4. I would say pitching your first 6 games in the majors is a good excuse as well. Just sayin'.
  5. Who cares whether or not Matsuzaka is having a hard time right now? The Sox have a chance to win, that's all I care about. I'm happy to have him on our team, and he is definitely looking like a #3 right now (on any team other than the Yankees ) At this point in the season you gotta let these guys get warmed up. Daisuke pitching with sleeves on every start is not going to be standard this season. If he's throwing like this in July or August there may be cause for some concern, but first week in May? Not a huge problem in my opinion.
  6. It doesn't get much sweeter than Manny's stroke. EDIT: and his swing is decent too! da da dum!
  7. Dropped a difficult but makeable foul ball near ('in') the Sox dugout on the 3-0 to Ichiro. Good inning Daisuke.
  8. Oh Youk. Oh Daisuke. No more walks. Ichiro isn't going to hit one out to RF, let him swing with 2 outs. Ichiro will be on 2nd in 3 pitches.
  9. I still think he's got a good chance at being a very good player. I'm not ready to come to any conclusions about a guy who is only 23 years old. Give up too early and you'll see him as an All-Star in a few years.
  10. that pitch looked a little high... to Pedroia. To most hitters it is a strike and he should expect it to be a strike.
  11. I am still pretty confident that 6 years from now at the end of his contract none of us will regret him having been a Red Sox. As for Manny, I was addressing both his slacking down the line, but also the fact that he's just slow. There are so many more OFs who could at least make that and other plays into plays rather than easy outs. I'm just sick of the loafing, whether intentional or unintentional.
  12. So, for those of you who say Manny is irreplaceable, take that AB as part of your data set. He hit the ball hard, but that shouldn't have been a DP. There are other guys who wouldn't slack down the line. I like the guy, he's a phenomenal hitter, but irreplaceable--when taking all of his skills into account--he is not.
  13. They are going to need to do something. I'm not that worried, honestly, as it is still early in this guy's career, but 5 runs in the 1st with only 1 out is unacceptable. Walks are unacceptable.
  14. Well, clearly something is not right with him right now. His control was not a significant issue for him in the past. I'm not ready to write him off, but I'm thoroughly confused.
  15. The negativity in here does suck. So does 5 runs on 1 hit. I still don't get it.
  16. I came home, couldn't fine the game on TV. Got pissed off because it was blacked out by MLB EI, then I stumble upon it and see its 5-0. What the f*** happened? 5 runs on 1 hit? Seriously?
  17. Nice. Sounds similar to JD Drew in the "power but not too much power, high OBP, good fielder" mold.
  18. Drew doesn't come through. Take him out back and PUT HIM DOWN!!!
  19. I love seeing angry Youkilis. That was a seriously dramatic fall in slow motion. It looked like the end of "platoon". Then he went and played some croquet with the 1B coach.
