  1. I heard the rumors for weeks that he was going to be traded, and it still surprised me. I thought he was going to be like Helton, and stay with the team until he retires.
  2. Oh, good, Ogando has been excellent at holding leads lately. This should work out fine.
  3. Then where do all of the young aces come from? Did they just appear one day on a Major League roster, complete with a list of unimpeachable references and two years of solid Major League experience?
  4. This can't be repeated enough. The World Series being canceled due to WWIII would be better than the Yankees winning it, so why not a franchise with a lot of history, like the Pirates or even the Cubs?
  5. At this rate, Ortiz is going to hit number 500 next week.
  6. Ugh the f***ing cowbells, yeah. That park is still a shitpile.
  7. I'd prefer the 04 and 07 Red Sox, thanks.
  8. Better than the Yankees winning. Or another Cardinals or Giants win. If it can't be the Sox, I'd rather it be someone who has either never won before, like Houston or Washington, or someone who hasn't won in a long, long time like Kansas City or Pittsburgh.
  9. I really hope the World Series ends up Washington-Houston this year. It'd be cool to have the winner be a first-timer.
  10. So, the Red Sox don't suck at this particular brief moment in time, huh?
  11. Anyways, the Red Sox suck right now, no?
  12. No, because bad language alone is not anything that loses a business money, and the racially charged lyrics in certain songs and genres is exactly their business model. But the Clippers were on the verge of losing big money in advertising and boycotted merchandise with the Sterling thing, for example, and the NBA cut him loose rather than deal with the fallout. Whether or not you agree with what Cowherd said, ESPN was well within their rights as his employer to say "s***, we don't want anything to do with whatever happens with this. Bye"
  13. OMG yeah, totally, you make one racially insensitive comment on a national news radio show, and the for-profit business that employs you lets you go in order to avoid losing advertisers, viewers, and profit! What a friggin' world. You can argue all day about what constitutes racism versus what is just "insensitivity", but what it comes down to is that any business has a right to fire someone as long as it is not for a discriminatory reason (race, gender, sexual identity, nationality, et cetera). Whether we like it or not, in this time everything that celebrities do or say is recorded. Hell, most of what you and I say is recorded in some way. We all know the kinds of assholish things that you can look like an ******* for saying. Racist comments, sexist comments, rape apologist speeches, admitting that you watched and enjoyed Little Nicky, and I'm sorry, but if you speak like Cowherd spoke and your job fired you rather than lose business to the bad PR, I have no sympathy for you whatsoever.
  14. It's sad that it took a comment about Dominicans to get Cowherd fired. He should have been fired years ago on the basis that he f***ing sucks, as both a sports radio host and a human being.
  15. Cueto to the Royals. Kansas City is serious about not being a flash-in-the-pan contender. They're going to be good for a while. More like the 2008 Rays than the 2005 Astros.
  16. If you had told me a few years ago that in 2015, a game between Kansas City and Houston would have serious meaning and be exciting to watch, I would have laughed at you harder than the last bank manager I asked for a loan.
  17. I've listened to all of them on the radio. I almost never miss the games. I prefer baseball on the radio.
  18. The Red Sox have 99 problems, and a pitch is one.
  19. Just win already, you motherf***ers.
  20. Another close game, I see. Oh well.
  21. I am, though I'm leaning towards LA or SD, SF is still on the list.
  22. Yeah, those ungrateful bastards.
