  1. Vegas vs. Winnipeg. Now there's a ratings gold mine. A bunch of people too busy gambling and prostituting in the middle of a desert vs. a city with only about fifteen people, ten of whom are silently considering eating the other five to stave off starvation during another brutally cold Winnipeg summer.
  2. I warned the guy and then you have to jump in ten minutes later and try to instigate something again? What the hell is wrong with everyone? I would swear the Sox are 20 games under .500 instead of off to one of their best starts in years. Everyone is acting miserable and touchy. Enough already.
  3. Ugh everyone just stop talking forever.
  4. What the hell happened here? Did you get drunk or something? Your constant negativity was annoying but that little freakout was uncharacteristic compared to everything leading up to it. Whatever that was, if it happens again you're gone. I'm not going to ban people for arguing or insulting each other within reason, but there are limits.
  5. I'd really like to avenge the first series loss of the season this week.
  6. I'm a millennial, and I think they look ridiculous. I don't care if they do it, everyone has their rituals, especially baseball players and fans. But I don't eagerly anticipate it, and it definitely doesn't appeal to me. It reminds me of all the stupid ostentatious touchdown celebrations.
  7. You aren't just the most negative Red Sox fan here right now, you are the most negative Red Sox fan we've ever had here. You may be the most negative Red Sox fan, period. In all the world.
  8. So basically, this is nowhere near a "walk the world" pen, and is in fact very close to the exact opposite?
  9. I'm surprised because I thought the Red Sox staff had the fourth-least amount of walks out of all 30 MLB teams.
  10. First of all, you can't see inside my mind either. I didn't say I thought the Yankees are superhuman. I didn't even come close to suggesting that, because that's ridiculous. I said they are the best lineup in the league right now, and they are. Secondly, I never said I didn't agree that Kimbrel could have been slightly more effective on a night where he wasn't at the top of his game by throwing curveballs. I only said that you have zero justification for claiming that he was "scared" to throw it. Maybe he thought he would get better results by throwing all fastballs and was just wrong. He has a good fastball, just not tonight, it's not exactly out of the realm of possibility.
  11. Yeah, it's gotten so bad I actually miss having you around, which is basically like having such a painful stomachache that you miss the days when all you had were blinding migraines.
  12. Why are you posting on TalkSox instead of making money hand over fist with your incredible ability to see inside people's brains? I mean, that's the only explanation for your otherwise ridiculous assertion that Kimbrel is "scared" to throw a curveball. I think the more likely explanation is that no pitcher is going to be lights-out every single time, and Kimbrel's bad day happened to come against the top lineup in baseball. Clearly, the only solution is to get a new closer from the hundreds of top-shelf options available right now. Hey, maybe Alex Cora can pull the next Mariano Rivera out of the same interdimensional pocket that he'll get a new catcher from!
  13. 9 games? What season have you been watching?
  14. As much as I hate the Yankees I still love the name "Chasen Shreve".
  15. I'm only following on radio, so I didn't actually see the play. By inner Jeter, I assume you mean he made a routine play but did it in an unnecessarily flowery way that made it look like he performed a superhuman feat of athletic prowess? Should I be prepared for him to be awarded Golden Gloves every year, even long after the time his skills decline to the point that he's basically being given a lifetime achievement award?
  16. Hanley Ramirez is...pretty cool.
  17. I'm sure I'm wrong, but it feels like the Sox have lost on my birthday for like ten years in a row. I'd really like that to change.
  18. I don't feel like doing the research, if you want to though; I'd be willing to bet that though Boston's average precipitation is higher by volume, Seattle's is higher by number of rainy days. 20 days of downpours will equal more actual rain than 100 days of steady drizzles and misting.
  19. Reminds me of that 14-run first inning in the 27-9 game against the Marlins back in 2003. Damon had three hits in that inning. Carl Pavano started that game, haha. And the Marlins won the friggin World Series that year! Also, I could be remembering incorrectly, but I think Mike Lowell, who was on the Marlins then, complained about the Sox running up the score. The last out of that first inning was at the plate, I think.
  20. I noticed that too. 10-0 now. The inning went: Single, HR, HR, HR, walk, walk, HR, Single, out, Single, Single, Single, Sac Fly, out. Bundy started and was taken out after the fourth HR. That was 7 batters and he only threw 19 pitches.
  21. Gleyber actually sounds like a slang term for a fielding error. "And Torres with a real Gleyber there..."
  22. Wasn't he also a giant douche to the fans and media, as opposed to DiMaggio, who was beloved by everyone?
  23. Is it just me or is there an absurd amount of no-hitters going into the 6th and 7th innings this year? Last year I got an MLB alert on my phone once every couple of weeks for one, now it seems like I get a "DEVELOPING: No-no watch" on the sixth or seventh inning of a game about five times a week. I've already gotten two just today.
  24. It's been several years since he began in the majors and I still can't help but snicker like a middle schooler at "Fister". (I barely know 'er!)
  25. Well if you think of one, let me know. I'm itching to try out this new ability. Resisting the urge to change Jacko's username to something ridiculous has taken most of my considerable self-control.
