  1. Baseball isn't like any other team sport. It's better. Besides, it's not like the others don't have their own stupid rules. I've learned that from being forced to watch the world cup at work for the last few weeks. Why 3/4 of the planet goes crazy over this I'll never know.
  2. Three Joses in the starting lineup.
  3. Haha poor Wil Meyers. The guy hit three HRs today and no one is even bothering to talk about it because his team got pasted 20-5.
  4. That would be neat, though, wouldn't it? Every run above what you needed to win could be banked, and you could add them onto a future game and win even if you don't score? To keep teams from just adding back and forth at the end until one team runs out of runs, you could only add them to your score before the game, so when you're playing another team's ace pitcher or you're starting your number 5 guy, you could start off ahead 6-0 or something.
  5. Okay even I'm starting to feel a little bad for Royals fans.
  6. Batting around in the top of the 9th, that's just embarrassing for the Royals.
  7. Trout is arguably the best player in baseball. And if you argued otherwise, he would still be second or third at the least. It's hard to overrate that.
  8. Another K for Camptown Races.
  9. Haha a mound visit and they didn't even take him out. I imagine it went a little like this: "We're not going to win this, so I'm leaving you out there until you get your s*** together or your f***ing arm falls off."
  10. Steve Pearce is a pretty solid guy so far.
  11. Who was the last big name FA the Sox signed before JD who turned out to be exactly as great as expected?
  12. Sonny Gray is my favorite Red Sox player.
  13. I say start Porcello, he's capable of winning and conversely, the Yankees are capable of beating anyone, including Sale, in a one-game playoff. Too much to risk by using Sale and losing anyways, and then needing to use Price or Porcello for an elimination game. I want Sale for either a WC game or game 1 of the DS.
  14. I just realized I have no idea why the game started so early. Independence Day events in the Capitol?
  15. Yep. All outs were recorded by K or by one player catching the ball. Basically the first baseman could have sat in the dugout for the entire game and it would not have changed anything.
  16. Interesting statistical anomaly today: The Twins did not record an out at first base for the entire game. All outs were made via flyout or K. No assists, either. Apparently it's only happened 5 times in the last 20 years. I understand my definition of interesting might not match anyone else's.
  17. Well, that escalated quickly.
  18. Okay, that's a Lidle offensive.
  19. Oh how I wish I had gone to this game instead of yesterday's.
  20. Fenway has a very inconvenient smoking area. But it turns out Yankee Stadium has none at all. No smoking, no reentry.
  21. I don’t understand why everyone seems so determined to pin it on Wagner. Christopher Walken was on that boat. That is one creepy guy, does anyone doubt he’s capable of murder?!
  22. Well, it makes sense. Football and basketball referees do a lot of running. Hockey referees skate back and forth with the players. Baseball umpires basically crouch or stand in one place for the entire game. They might have to lightly jog to avoid a collision, but they’re not sprinting the length of the field.
  23. I've never watched O'Brien on TV, but I really liked him and Castiglione on the radio. I still love Joe, but I don't really like any of the guys who work with him.
  24. Just found out I'm going to tomorrow's game! Some family friends are going on one of those chartered bus trips that include dinner and a ticket to the game, and one of them had to cancel so I'm taking the ticket and the spot. This will be my first time at the new Yankee Stadium. I imagine it will be filled with the same *******s as the old one, except this time with better accommodations?
  25. I have to wonder if sometimes Mike Trout wishes he was on a different team. Can you imagine if he was on the Sox or the Yankees? Or Houston or Washington? That would terrifying to the opposing team. I drool a little thinking about a 1-2-3 of Betts-Trout-Martinez. If I was a pitcher who saw that lineup card I'd s*** myself.
