  1. Anyone have any idea if the exhibition games are going to be televised?
  2. shitttttttttttttttt! I got a few nice selections with my pre-draft rankings (Thank god I actually did them. Wasn't going to as I had planned on participating in the draft), but I'm f***ED in some areas. This should be fun...
  3. OH s***!!!! I was feeling like s*** today and completely forgot about the draft. f***.
  4. Well said.
  5. thats for damn sure. there are a few devoted celebrity fans though, however few and far between.
  6. Oh and please, I beg for your forgiveness for misreading that post. I thought you had called me a phony.........I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry.
  7. So I don't KNOW firsthand through personal conversations with the man, but in many appearances, behind the scenes work for 61*, and other interviews he displays a true love of his team and strong knowledge. Enough for me to know he's a Yankee fan. It's the same as how I "know" you, or others on this board are Red Sox fans. Sure, a lot of people here weren't Sox fans pre-'04, but some you can just tell have lived and died with the team for year. Go rent 61* and watch the special features and Crystal will amaze you, as he did me. For a while I thought he was just another celebrity showing his face and associating himself with a sports team without having any REAL allegiance. That is not the case. And as for there not being much portrayal of his love for the Yankis pre-'96 you're simpy mistaken. He made many appearances with his boyhood hero turned close friend Mickey Mantle, in which he shares that sentiment. .
  8. Kilo just f***ing go jerk off to some 2004 World Series highlights. That's the point I'm at with you... I dont care what you say or think, you're just some f***ing loser who gets big on a computer. You make some incredibly close-minded, one-sided posts. Some of your posts contradict the thoughts in others, you are unable to even think objectively about anything involving the Yankees. I mean s***, be fair, be consistent, or just shut the f*** up man. The sight of your username atop a post makes me cringe. I don't normally let people on the internet get under my skin too much, but I absolutely despise you. Moreso than I did ORS at one point. At least he is respectable. You are just a pathetic excuse for a baseball fan.
  9. St. Pete is right next to Tampa. Like 20 mins..
  10. Anyone happen to catch what number Mattingly has been wearing with the Dodgers? Just out of curiosity..
  11. He didnt have to spell s*** out for me. I read ur stupid ass post.
  12. A few days after the deal with the Mets went down I heard the Twins last ditch effort to get the Yanks involved was asking for Wang, Melky, Horne (I believe, if my memory serves me well), and another prospect. Either way, the opportunity to acquire Johan Santana without giving up Phil Hughes shouldnt have been passed up. Its all good though, I don't mind not taking on the $ and holding on to my homeboy Melky Cabrera.
  13. Well thank you for s***ing on ORS for me. Oh and btw, go fist yourself, Kilo. You f***ing pussy. You're more useless than a single turd floating in a Fenway Park toilet.
  14. I was definitely nitpicking. Like Kilo does all the time. So I had to take the opportunity.. And forgive me, I'm not much f a seafarer. Sometimes when my mind is zoning I tend to not put ideal amounts of thought into my posts. Just the way it is.. Good post. It won't matter to them though. Where were all of you when the likes of Pete Rose and Bob Gibson were playing. I realize a lot of us here, like myself, weren't around for that; but some of the older guys bitching and moaning about how bush league the Yankees are forgot how the game used to, and should be played. Hard with an immense amount of aggression and passion.
  15. Some of you guys are just dumb.. Kilo, Iwamura is gonna be starting at secnd this year not third. That's gonna be Longoria. Zach, Eliot Johnson has a snowballs chance in hell of making the team. He's not fighting for a roster spot, my boy Shawn Riggans pretty much has the backup catching job. HoSN, Shelley isn't even his name. It's David. Kilo, I think it's stupid to think that Cervelli breaking his wrist isn't a big deal compared to Iwamura potentially being hurt. They're both ballplayers with a season ahead of them. Just because it was a prospect who got hurt means that his injury is insignificant? You're an idiot bro. What Girardi has said, and what the Yankees did today is nothing at all like what the Yankees of recent years would have done. Girardi wants to establish himself as the new manager and implement his approaches, and that means changing the ships course of direction. He said he was going to be him, and not Joe Torre. Setting the tone and pretty much saying that this new Yankee team is going to play hard, and not back down from anybody is a good thing. I like the aggressive attitude. Johnson went in hard on Cervelli, Girardi essentially said "you guys wanna play like that, we can play that game too." I like this. The youthful exuberance and aggressive attitude is something I embrace. This is going to be a fun team to watch in the coming years. It's a new chapter in the long tale of Yankee history.
  16. That's nowhere near the point I was trying to make but I can work with this too... Exactly, the team that you represent on a hat, uniform, etc. doesn't necessarily represent where the individuals fan-hood lies. Schilling was a Pirates fan, but played for the Phillies, etc. Crystal wore a Mets hat in the movie, but loves the Yankees. In a wierd way you kinda helped me make my point.. thanks
  17. Perhaps Junior Spivey can try to resurrect his career. When he came up with the D-Backs he had some tools....after going to Milwaukee it seems like it started to go down from there.
  18. Wait so becase in a MOVIE he wore a Mets hat means he's fairweather? It was a movie, the character portrayed isn't supposed to be HIM. I don't know enough about the movie; things like who directed, wrote, produced it, etc. But for all we know he was told to wear it. I'm not much of a Billy Crystal fan, but I know he's been a Yankee fan all his life. David Ortiz wore a Yankee hat in that ESPN commercial, does that mean he's really a Yankee fan?
  19. Hey Mystic River was an awesome movie. So was Shawshank and Bull Durham. As for Billy Crysta....haha!!!! That was my exact reaction when I heard this, complete drunken laughter
  20. I was really looking forward to seeing him pitch last year. After he eventually signed the Rays originally assigned him to Hudson Valley of the NY-Penn League where I was interning, but he got there and then at the last minute they sent him out to Columbus. He did look pretty good today though. It'll be interesting to see how he develops in the coming years.
  21. thats fine
  22. All of that sounds good.
