  1. Looks like the Yankees may be out of it. http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-spyanks1220,0,4448697.story?track=rss
  2. Jayhawk, did you read Juiced? Correct me if I'm wrong (which I may be, as I havent picked up the book since buying it and finishing it about 2 weeks after it came out), but Jose didn't say that Roger used, he just said that Roger was informed and knowledgable when it came to steroids. He said he had no knowledge if Roger had used or not, and echoed that sentiment after the report came out when he said that he was surprised that if Roger had been using during their time in Toronto, that he didn't go to him, or at least share/discuss it openly with him.
  3. That is sad. Even I can admit that, and I LOVE the guy. You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger Clemens supporter than myself. The dog story is great though. I came across the article online and first thought was to come here to see the response Absolutely Priceless.
  4. Yeah me too. But appearantly they've missed quite a few Minor signings. Other than that rotoworld is GREAT.
  5. Updated it today, and even added Silva to the M's. I know he hasnt signed yet, but it looks imminent and I didn't want to have to update it again either later tonight or tomorrow. If it falls through I can always remove him. Also of note to Yankee fans, the Yanks are bringing Nick Green back on a minor league deal after he spent last season in the Seattly organization. He was with the Yanks in '06. Also, I've seen on a lot of blogs reportings of Minor League signings all over baseball. Ones that I wasn't aware of (for instance the one that popped out at me was quicker than lightning former Oriole & Nat Bernie Castro signing with the Yankees). That being said, anyone have a good source for minor league signings? I know Baseball America is usually on top of it, but they're kinda sloppy with it sometimes, and it would literally take me a week or so to do all of that, as they don't list a signee's former organization, and to have to research each player individually would take HOURS. Maybe with no classes for a little while I'll try to find some time to do that, but still, if anyone knows of a good MiLB transaction page, please let me know.
  6. NOOOO. Selig takes a lot of unfair treatment. Minus this steroids-era controversy I think Bud has done a GREAT job, I think. Interleague play, two expansions, unifying the AL and NL, etc. I would be more than happy to see him finish out his term.
  7. Any more info on Garce? What the hell has he been doing the past few years. With that alleged velocity, you would think he would have been signed much sooner than age 22. I'm anxious to see how he, in particular progresses over the next few years. I would assume that both players will be in the DSL this summer, but it wouldn't surprise me if Garce does well in the Dominican Summer League to come to the states to finish out the seaosn with one of the affiliates. Gotta read up on him a little more.
  8. Bonds wasn't exactly the nicest guy himself though.
  9. I'm going to have to echo Thumper's statements and say that the color of Barry Bonds' skin has NOTHING to do with it. The reason he gets the treatment he does is because he's arrogant, egotistical, rude, shits on the fans, shits on the media, etc. I dont care if you're black, white, green, yellow, or purple; that combination of personality traits is gonna have a heavy influence on a negative image. In this day in age race is hardly a pressing issue in America, and having to hear all the African-American activists cry race for everything makes me SICK. Don't get me wrong, there are stil racists in this country, and racism still exists, but to a far less degree. I mean, this isn't the 1950's, 1960's and on, it's 2005. In America we have the most diverse population in the world, and for the most part we are all tolerable of one another. Hearing the likes of Jesse Jackson, and in sports; Barry Bonds cry the race card everytime some sort of controversy occurs regarding a member of that race is I think shameful. Whites, Asians, Muslims, etc. get surrounded with controversy as well, they just don't cry about it. It's a matter of specific circumstances, not race. If you mug and rape somebody, no matter what color you are, there's going to be legal and public backlash. When a minority living in an urban setting does it, thr activists all cry that the black youth living in the ghettoes are being targeted. ********. And now, more than ever, Barry Bonds's statements regarding his treatment being accredited to his race is losing water, considering the likes of Clemens and Pettitte and the public backlash they're facing. Basically, people need to grow up and find better excuses/explanations than the race card. I appologize if I offended anyone, as that was not my intention; but this issue infuriates me.
  10. I read an article todya pointing out the cons of Clemens suing, even if he was innocent. I don't remember what paper it was but if I can find one, i'll post a link. And again, this isn't to say that Clemens is innocent, just acknowledging that the article was interesting.
  11. I wonder if Pena, who is on the Major League 40 man roster, gives up his number 8 for Javy in the Spring.
  12. As much as I would love to believe him there's just no way anybody can. When he comes out and speaks publicly I guess we'll have more to discuss, but for now, this statement does nothing for me. I do find it interesting though that Jose Canseco was admittedly skeptical that Clemens used steroids while with the Jays, but that doesnt mean much either.
  13. Nice job Buster. Well written. I'm still anxious to see what action Clemens takes.
  14. Probably my favorite show of all time. I can still remember coming home from school, finishing my homework, wtching Are You Afraid of the Dark at 5 and then eating dinner.
  15. Good stuff. I didnt see that Rasner had re-signed, which I am happy about. Any word on Sardinha or DeSalvo? I know Beam signed with Pittsburgh.
  16. Preach on. I have two young brothers, 6 and 4, and watching TV wih them just makes my head spin. I feel so bad for them because of the ******** they have to watch on tv. Man, when we were kids TV was GREAT
  17. lol what the f*** happened to Nickelodeon? That's gonna be the downfall of mankind, and we've already started to see it. If these whipper-snappers now adays had the television programming we had growing up things would be totally different. Instead of Are You Afraid of th Dark, All That, Wild and Crazy Kids, Camp Salute my shorts, Doug, etc. they're watching Lil Romeos show, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom and all those other terrible cartoons.
  18. I'm really not at liberty to get into specifics, but I will tell you that it's firsthand knowledge from a former Astros teammate I know who on occasion did it with Biggio and Cammy. Never mentioned anything about Bagwell though, not to say he didnt do it. Thats the most i've ever volunteered on the subject, so be gracious you chowderheads!
  19. I LOVED My Brother and Me. What was the f***ing kids name..for some reason Alfie sticks in my mind, but I dont think thats it...wikipedia time! haha I remember one episode where they were playnig basketball and the older bro distracted the younger bro by saying "Look there's Larry Johnson!" hahahaha idk why but I loved it. Shutup, it was planned.
  20. I REALLY feel like this was planned or something. This is way beyond coincidence.
  21. Or even Biggio's. I've stated in the past on a few occasions that I have knowledge that Biggio has at least tried steroids (don't know how frequent his use was) with Caminitti.
  22. Come to think of it I don't really mind getting the pick either.
  23. You guys just confused the s*** out of me. Yeszir, I dont care either way. For the sake of accuracy feel free to change it. Frankly, it's up to you. If your fellow-Sox fans want to see me stuck with this name because of how stupid it looks (ORS, Zach, another person said it too I think..) then thats fine too. The choice is yours and yours alone... http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4608/03olmec5gzwj3.jpg
  24. I dont have the ability to. I have said that I dont mind if it gets changed, nobody with that authority has stepped up and done it yet though.
