  1. He looked good tonight. Nice night at the beautiful ballpark in which I will probably never step foot in again. But anyway, I was real happy to see him in there tonight, throwing to Cervelli, who if you remember broke his wrist during ST when Johnny Gomes came crashing into the plate.
  2. I'm waiting for you to go shove a hockey stick up your ass.
  3. Ken Davidoff compiled a nice little list of moves that Cashman was responsible for, had some/little influence on, and had nothing to do with. Figured I would share, as I found it pretty interesting. http://blogs.trb.com/sports/baseball/blog/2008/09/a_brian_cashman_audit_and_ther.html Cashman All The Way: Bobby Abreu, Alfredo Aceves, Armando Benitez, Wilson Betemit, Kevin Brown, Brian Bruney, Shawn Chacon, Tony Clark, Roger Clemens (both times) Johnny Damon, Kyle Farnsworth, Glenallen Hill, Kei Igawa, David Justice, Al Leiter, Cory Lidle, Hideki Matsui (re-signing in November 2005), Damaso Marte, Tino Martinez (his return), Jose Molina, Mike Mussina (re-signing in November 2006), Xavier Nady, Denny Neagle, Carl Pavano, Andy Pettitte (his return), Sidney Ponson (both times), Darrell Rasner, Mariano Rivera (re-signing in November 2007), Alex Rodriguez (the 2004 trade), Ivan Rodriguez, Javier Vazquez, Robin Ventura, Jose Vizcaino, Bernie Williams (re-signing in December 2005), Jeff Weaver His Player, Not His Price: Jason Giambi, Sterling Hitchcock (re-signing in December 2001), Steve Karsay, Jorge Posada (re-signing in November 2007), Rondell White, Bernie Williams (re-signing in November 1998) Above Cashman: Aaron Boone, Jose Contreras, Dwight Gooden (return in 2000), Chris Hammond, Orlando Hernandez, Randy Johnson, Travis Lee, Jim Leyritz (re-signing in November 1999), Jon Lieber, Esteban Loaiza, Kenny Lofton, Raul Mondesi, Alex Rodriguez (re-signing in November 2007), Gary Sheffield, Ruben Sierra (return in June 2003), Darryl Strawberry (his re-signing in November 1998), David Wells (return in December 2001), Jaret Wright
  4. Nothing was wrong with it at all, I was just sharing his comments. I'm not disagreeing with anything he said whatsoever, it seems thats the impression some of you have gotten though. I apologize for the misrepresentation of my actual opinion.
  5. ...and this time he's ripping former teammate Manny Ramirez. I came across these links highlighting a conversation he had on WEEI yesterday I guess. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2008/09/schilling_blast.html http://www.beloblog.com/ProJo_Blogs/SoxBlog/2008/09/schilling-blast.html I'm not gonna post all of his quotes as you can read them in the stories, I will however post this one in particular, which is my favorite from the bunch...
  6. That's what I'm thinking
  7. This dude is too much. The last thing he needs is an MVP to boost that ego of his.
  8. I find it funny how the Astros, although officially the "home team" against the Cubs in this series at Miller Park are wearing their road alt tops and grey pants. A not so subtle display of their displeasure towards MLB for forcing them to play these "home games" against the Cubs so close to the Chicago area.
  9. Edit: Former Red Sox third base coach Dale Sveum is taking over on an interim basis. He's served as a coach on the Brewers staff since 2006 as first the bench coach and most recently the 3rd base coach. On an unrelated, random note I didn't recall him being on the 1998 Yankees until just looking at his career numbers. He played in 30 games and hit .155 in 58 ABs for the Yanks in '98. Lets see if he can take the Brewers to October. I hope he's a better manager than he is a thid base coach, as I vividly recall several questionable moves on his part while with the Sox.
  10. The Brewers have today fired manager Ned Yost with 12 games remaining in the season, one day before starting a crucial series in Chicago against the Cubbies while tied with the Phillies for the lead in the NL Wild card lrace. No word on a replacement. I would imagine it's somebody already on the staff. Shocking move. The Brewers are in it to win it this season.
  11. The Tigers are making this Sunday night game interesting. Former Yankee Marcus Thames just hit a grand slam in the 8th off fellow-former Yankee Octavio Dotel to tie the game.
  12. It would have been nice to be able to watch it. It was completely blacked out on DirecTV. Did anyone get to see it? Nice reactions by the Miller Park crowd
  13. Pavano says he expects to make his next start. Saw it on mlb.com
  14. It's gonna be fun watching him progress along the way.
  15. Now you're just being foolish. Just because he wasn't responsible for the nucleus of those teams doesnt mean he doesnt deserve credit. In 1999 it was him that made the Clemens deal, some of his key acquisitions in 2000 more than contributed to our championship season. I mean I could go on with more examples but you get my point. All I'm saying is how come credit can't be extended throughout the organization, and not just to one person.
  16. Umm...technically it's: Michael: 0 Watson: 1 Cashman: 3 ....But I get your point.
  17. If you guys get a league up and running I'm down.
  18. oh alright lol, you had him mentioned among a bunch of middle relievers and I'm thinking to myself "We havent had anyone named Williams in the bullpen" my bad...got u.
  19. Who? Only Williams I off-hand recall was Bernie.
  20. The difference is we're fans, it's not our JOB to suit up and play. That's how he makes his living, and if he's gonna sit there injured and collect $8 Mil the least he should do is keep his mouth shut. He's aplayer, and it's unprofessional to say about 85% of what he says. You don't see Derek Jeter, Joe Mauer, Dan Haren, Prince Fielder, etc. constantly s***-talking their rivals. Especially if they were hurt. Has Jorge Posada or Chien-Ming Wang or any other injured player in the league right now opened their mouth to bad-mouth an opposing city's team and fans for absolutely no reason other than for shits and giggles? Curt Schilling is just a big f***ing 8 year old who has nothing better to do than talk s***...he should just go lock himself in his den or something, count his 8 Million beans, and shut the f*** up.
  21. I was asking myself the same thing when I saw that lol...it's those dumbass retarded Yankee fans who give us all a bad rap
  22. I knew what he was trying to say, and yeah he's right, like I said in response to BoSox21, but I think he should keep his mouth shut if all he's doing himself is sitting there and collecting $8 Million for doing NOTHING but run his mouth. s***, I'll do what Curt does for half of what he makes...let me place a call to Theo. In fact, he's the real douchebag for using $8 Million of your team's payroll to pay some clown to be a s***-talking cheerleader who dick-rides the city of New York.
