  1. yea, because having Schilling; whose been hurt all year, Wells; whose always got something wrong with him health-wise, Clement; whose pretty much been your ace this year which is pretty sad, Schmidt; whose been horendous this year plus is injured quite often, including most of this year, and Wade Miller whose been rocky the last few years and missed the begining of the season due to none other than an INJURY, is real lights out and could be compared to a fantasy rotation of Roger Clemens, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Whitey Ford, and Sandy Koufax.....hell, we might as well say that the sox rotation with the addition of Schmidt is BETTER than the fantasy rotation i mentioned as far as im concerned you could have your rotation that your dreaming about right now, it'd sure as hell help us
  2. a loser? hardly lets see, he kicked bostons ass in game 2 back in 03 and was part of four World Championships and 6 AL championships....who do you have, or who have u had in the last 10 years thats done that
  3. you guys WISH you could get pettitte.......remember he turned down the sox offer, which was better than Houstons, because he said he would never do that to the yankees or their fans....so keep dreaming
  4. does anyone know if they signed the closer out of St. Johns from Long Island...i forget his name off the top of my head but he was highly touted by scouts from all 30 teams and the yanks (and mets as well as many other teams) passed him up and the sox drafted him...just curious because in an interview with a red Sox scout on MSG (Madison Square Garden network, similar to NESN for those that dont know) the night before the draft the scout was very pessimistic about getting him because of how good he is he figured he would be gona in the top 5 picks but if he stuck around the sox would do anything possible to keep him out of Yankee and Shea stadium. it is said that the diamondbacks were debating between Upton, this kid from St Johns, and someone else to be their top pick but ultimately chose upton, its very surprising that he stuck around so late, either late 1st round or early second, dont quite remember..or he might have been a supplementary pick for Orlando Cabrera going to LAA, not sure....but anyways back to the point, did he sign yet?
  5. i didnt think so either... and like Bam-Tino said its us that make the players give curtain calls, we cheer and chant and everythin until they give us one...... Bigppapienfuego, the groundskeeper wasnt cheering for his team he was bein a dick to the yankee relievers, and yea nelson probably should have ignored it its not like he went n picked a fight......and like you never made fun of a gay guy lol, also what does brownie breaking his hand have anything to do wit hclass....he was upset about his performance...and i appreciate what he did, it got him out of the rotation for a little while which is fine with me and also ONE of our players knowingly took steroids, sheff did it when he was rehabbing and it was knee-creamits not like it was during the season...not that im exusing it im just saying, and it was years ago anyway...its ur starting pitcher who wears number 16 that wrote a book and happened to mention that he used cortisone more than he needed for added strength and took all sorts of enhancements
  6. i dont really understand the trade...for philly its good but why would detroit, who is doing nothing this year make that trade when they can develop someone else at 2B
  7. i doubt clemens would want to go to Arlington, its 4 1/2 hours away from his home (though NY and Boston obviously multiply that he has pitched in those 2 cities before and established himself in those cities, something he has not done with Texas)
  8. i was just saying that it seemed like things were out of place from where i first saw them but like i said "its just me", and, yes i can read also i wouldnt have posted 3 consecutive posts because the idea for the next post didnt come to me until i already posted....had i planned on posting everything i posted i would have only used 1 post. i havent said or done anything to you guys but you still insist on acting as if i had done something to you
  9. is it just me or does it seem like posts are just showing up out of nowhere...like i never saw the post i just replied to until a few minutes ago as well as some others, also it seems like posts are being moved around in different orders, though they probably arent im just losing it i guess
  10. i didnt question your love for the Sox, what i said was that i DO care about what happened regardless of if i was around to see all 26 or not, and just because you dont care about what your team did before you were around thats your problem...thats what i was saying......and dont EVER bitch at me like that again, i havent said a bad thing about ANY of you since ive been here, and dont EVER tell me that i dont care about the past history of my team. And YES i do know what its like, i was around in the 80's and 90's when the Yankees were a laughingstock so dont EVER call me spoiled again. Its not my fault the my team won those 4. Though i admit most Yankee fans are just spoiled frontrunners who would be mets fans had they had the same recent success as the Yankees but not me...i grew up in the Bronx and being a baseball fan and a yankee fan has been passed down t hrough generations in my family.
  11. im not saying that the home runs themselves are chokes, but allowing the Yankees to come back when you were leading by 14 games in 78 is a choke (which lead to the HR) and blowing the lead in game 7 was a choke, not the HR...the HR's were just the result of the chokes
  12. Im not takin sides in this but it will definately be a good series Knicks in 05-06!! lol
  13. the same as you will always remember blowing game 7 back in 2003, the 1999 ALCS loss, and if you're old enough, losing to the Mets in 86. At least im not putting our chokes aside like you guys. You guys act as if they never happened, at least i acknowledge last year.
  14. if you guys REALLY want to get rid of Wells we'll take him, for say..Scott Proctor or Jorge DePaula (of coarse we'd be taking that salary off your hands)...we all know how well Boomer pitches with the Yanks (except of coarse Game 5 in Miami bak in 03), and if it doesnt work out in the rotation he can always pitch long relief in the pen...but only if you REALLLY wanna giv him up
  15. Lilly was good in NY, no doubt he'd be a good fit with the sox, but you guys do have a surplux of starting pitching...isnt that why you guys were reluctant to give Wake his extention, you have something like 6 or 7 starting pitchers under contract next year.
  16. im sure it bothers you guys that players like Pedro and Lowe left, but would it bother you more if they had came to the Yankees? or even if Nomar had signed here to play second, something he said he was willing to do. We ALL know Pedro wouldnt have minded donning navy blue pinstripes, as he has said and done many thing in his last 2-3 years in Boston that hints that, as well as talking to Steinbrenner early in the winter, and Lowe also made a remark after the ALCS that he wouldnt mind playing here and also contacted Brian Cashman in the offseason. So how about it, would it be more of a bother if either Lowe, Pedro, or Nomar were wearing pinstripes?
  17. honestly i dont know why im here....guess i was just lookin for a place to discuss the weekend series wit sum sox fans, made the username and the old sig just as protection for the beatdown i figured id recieve and just hope that i'd run into a classy bunch of fans like you that have posted lol i dont really have aproblem with sox fans, only the ones who come to the bronx and just start talkin s***, thats when i talk s*** back...but like for instance when im up in fenway and somebody says something i USUALLY let it go, exceptions have been made though lol. but anyway thanks for recognizing the past ball, classy lol
  18. just because our choke was worse means that your countless chokes didnt happen? is that what your telling me? and i think blowing a game in which you were one strike away from a WORLD SERIES title is a little more meaningful than blowing a series in which we were one GAME away from a WORLD SERIES appearance. Also it wasnt just Buckner, remember the past ball that put Gary Carter on second?
  19. umm....Ruth only helped us win in 1923, 1927, 1928, and 1932
  20. wow you guys are just a little ignorant here huh?...you guys are all gettin on me and i didnt say ONE negative thing to any of you, yes my sig prolly isnt the best but that could be changed, and btw...im not from the YES boards, theyre full of people who know NOTHING about the game and its history as well as the Yankees and their history (which happens to include 26 Championships and 39 Pennants...just in case you forgot), and plus its so unorganized there....and granted right now its 2004-2000 in favor of you guys, but regardless it would have been like that when you guys won eventually anyway so thats really not that big a deal. and YES, you guys did win the weekend series, but last time i checked the season series was ONLY 5-4...you guys have ONE GAME on us, the July series up in Fenway will be here soon enough and then its redemption time. And yes we did choke last year, and no i cant live that down. But what about all of your chokes, you act as if they NEVER happened. Remember Enos Slaughter, the Cards in 67, Bucky Dent, and blowing the World Series while only 1 strike away from a win. so the way i see it is you guys lead in the choke category while we lead in the championship category.
  21. soxie, thanks i didnt realise you were taking it off of a site, i thought you might have just been saying that as a possibility...sorry
  22. im not switching my name to "4 to 1" either way you look at it we still lead, just think of it as me giving you the benefit and regarding your 6 championships rather than your 1 which took place in both of our lifetimes. And of coarse i care, my family is filled with Yankee fans for generations, my uncles and grandfather and whatnot have told me about the great teams past...i care about anything regarding the Yankee organization....maybe you dont have the same love and appreciation for your team as me, but thats your problem, not mine.
  23. thanks, makes sense...do you know this for sure or are you just throwing it out there....only reason i dont understand your theory is that Boomer loves Babe, and why would he just sell a number....but whatever, if you say this is what happened i cant argue it thanks
  24. calvnhobbs, you're right it completely slipped my mind that Boomer wore 16 in Detroit....but i still dont understand why, i doubt that they walked up ot each other and said "hey wanna switch, maybe we'll play better" ...just doesnt make sense to me, like how Mendoza switched from 55 to 26 back in 03
  25. my sig is just stating the obvious, you Sox fans like to jump on the yankees for their choke last year and disregard all of your previous chokes which isnt fair, so im just reminding you guys what the numbers are, not trying to be antaganostic...just stating facts...thats my response for every sox fan who jumps on me for last year...26 to 6 thanks for the welcome
