  1. looking from the outside of all this, the only people that really seem to have an authoritative tone are people like you and User Name
  2. Scott Atchison was just designated for assignment...
  3. I missed that part of your post, my bad. I agree with you
  4. But nobody is doing that. I'm with a700. I hope we get either. I just think from a standpoint of health and all that I'd rather have Jackson, because I think there would be a less of a chance of the crap we put up with last year, where we were trotting out any person they could find for a start.
  5. I was going to say this. Over the same time span Oswalt has averaged 177 IP. Jackson has averaged 4 more starts per year with an extra 30 IP, with a slightly higher winning percentage, while having a .50 higher ERA. H/9 HR/9 BB/9 SO/9 SO/BB are pretty close between them, but Oswalt gave up pretty much one whole less hit per 9. All this Jackson did with a majority of games being in the AL while it was all NL for Oswalt. Yeah, I'd take Jackson
  6. Why don't you back this up with some stats, *******? Just kidding, that was a great post. Too bad no one will really see it in this less visited area of the forum. I think you should go and post it in every high traffic thread of every section.
  7. That is gonna be fun to watch
  8. I like the idea of Palodios as mod. If not him then me
  9. Oh wow. Not to be "that guy", but if Pineda was available I hope the sox at least TRIED to get him. Damn
  10. I can't wait to spend my summer watching Padilla's sweaty, ugly, swollen, mayan statue looking face get shelled
  11. Id rather take a chance on injury prone Rich Harden than Joe Saunders. Even if Harden has a few DL stints I think he'd be more valuable than Saunders. I could see Saunders coming and putting up Lackey level numbers, maybe worse. And I don't get the thing about the owners saying multiple times they would break the luxury tax threshold. I think they are bullshitting and will continue to do so until I see otherwise. They've had multiple opportunities to acquire pitchers that are needed but they haven't done so. Believing what they say is gullible. I will not be gullible.
  12. I can't get why anyone would want Saunders.
  13. Oh and also, people have been making way to big of a deal about this CC Valentine thing. Valentine asked if he talked to CC, he said he called him, he was asked if he CC got back to him, he said no. Big freakin deal
  14. I can't believe there was a time in my life that I watched David Wells make an opening day start for the sox
  15. But they don't work in an office. They do a job infront of millions of people. Millions of people who pay money out of their own pocket so that they can go to the stadium and watch them play, buy their memorabilia, and pay to watch them on television therefor they deserve to be reprimanded in front of those people.
  16. I bet that is it. A lot of people don't seem to like him for some reason, and won't seem to accept him. That will always happen. Much like the people who loved Francona and would let him get away with murder.
  17. As far as I know Fenway Park isn't listed in any National or State or City historical building lists at the moment. Even if it is part of the National Register of Historic Places it would totally fine to renovate it, add things and even tear it down. For example, Danvers State Hospital is on the national Register of Historic places and was recently renovated into apartments, and Northampton State Hospital was also on the National Register of Historic Places and was demolished a few years ago. Being on the list basically only means the owners get get things like tax breaks or incentives and things like that.
  18. I may be Anthony Weiner, but I'm certainly no Jerry Sandusky. No "rhythmic slapping sounds" coming from my showers.
  19. It's something that needs to be done across all of MLB though. Teams need to stop taking crap from these guys. Is it really fine for teams to be spending tons of money on guys and then put up with them half assing it and throwing hissy fits? If they can't sign with anyone they will think twice. Or they can go to Japan and play for less money. This is all unrealistic, I know that. But I think if done right there can be a way to reprimand these players and get the best out of them without alienating them. Making them accountable in public is a start. I don't mean full out embarrassing them.
  20. Baseball needs an injection of the real world to it. Enough of these guys living some cushy fantasy where they can get away with whatever they want.
  21. I'm glad Bobby V said something to the media. If you don't do things right you absolutely deserved to get called out on it. If they don't like being called out on it then they have 2 choices, they can improve themselves, or they can continue being stubborn and all that garbage and get a one way ticket out of town to some s*** team somewhere. They'll end up regretting it when they are playing for the Astros in front of 500 people while their teammates who gave a damn and acted like professionals are competing for a pennant and maybe even a championship. Or they can end up like Manny, going around looking for any team who'd take them for any amount.
  22. ya y? u need 1? id be glad to sell, i need moar monies 4 furtility druugs
