  1. Interesting ... who do you think is the best pro prospect?
  2. Yup true. Anyway, for all the POY talk surrounding Kemba and Jimmer, the best player in the nation (and the best pro prospect) is Derrick Williams.
  3. He shoots a subpar percentage but the more Kemba I watch the more I like him.
  4. Also, what does everyone think about the games tonight? I've got UConn, Florida, Duke, and Butler. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Duke defends Derrick Williams, probably more than anything.
  5. The Big East is a good conference, there's no disputing that, but I think there are two other factors that explain why they get so many teams in the tourney. The first, and obvious one, is that the conference has so many teams to begin with. But the reason that people often overlook is that Big East powerhouses are notorious for playing very weak out of conference schedules. All of these factors probably make the conference a bit overrated, and leads to disappointing performances come tournament time.
  6. To the best of my knowledge (reports from the time), this is misrepresenting what happened. Sure Buck can be overbearing, but that's his style and George and Stick Michael knew that going in. He was forced out because George was an idiot, and based his decisions on small samplings (1995 ALDS). EDIT: Buster Olney (Last Night Of The Yankees' Dynasty) and Joel Sherman (Birth Of A Dynasty) give a lot of details supporting this as well.
  7. How did Buck walk away/get himself fired from the Yankees? By all accounts he was forced out by ownership.
  8. Gotta feel bad for Jacob Pullen. What a competitor. My guess is that he won't find much success in the NBA, but I guess anything is possible.
  9. Yeah, actually, by the second day, no one on ESPN had a perfect bracket. And with PITT going out, I'm down to three final four teams.
  10. Few points. -Both foul calls were legitimate. -Incredibly dumb play by Omir Robinson. -He probably won't take any heat for this (and this is going to come across as a second guess), but Jamie Dixon is not putting his players in the best position to succeed by keeping them on the block in that situation. If the second free throw is missed, the chance of a foul far outweighs the chance of a tip in before time expires. Even if PITT was to get an offensive rebound, it would likely come off a tipped ball, and time would expire before a shot could be attempted.
  11. Rose - Evans - Wall - Knight ... four straight years. Pretty amazing.
  12. I think his ball handling ability, speed, and feel for the game would make him an excellent NBA PG.
  13. I'd be surprised. He's probably a lottery pick.
  14. I didn't realize before this tournament how awesome Brandon Knight is. If he's still around when the Knicks pick, which remains to be seen, that's who I want.
  15. Guess they forgot to tell him to foul with the National Championship in sight.
  16. Yeah the one thing you can always count on with Cal's teams is a disappointing performance in the tournament. One foul away from winning a championship ... he really does struggle with in-game decisions.
  17. Been a strange year for them. The talent is there with Lucas, Summers, and Green (although the Lucious suspension hurt), but they just never really got it going this year.
  18. And on your first point, I don't know how much you've seen of him this year, but take a look at Kemba Walker's stat lines. And to think he might be the front runner for POY...
  19. When it comes to college ball, that's one of the biggest reasons I love watching Duke. They almost always play smart, fundamentally sound basketball. Really enjoyed the backcourt of Jon Scheyer and Nolan Smith last year.
  20. I just disagree with the idea that the vast majority of what he says is positive. I posted the statistical updates because they clearly illustrate Jacko's willingness to post negative things about the Yankees, an idea you seem to be disagreeing with. Furthermore, he has posted numerous extremely negative threads about the Yankees, essentially saying their season is over, in past years. I'll admit that, with the scouting reports, he has had his moments where he focuses on the positives when it comes to Yankees' prospects, and the negatives when it comes to Red Sox's prospects. On the whole, I just think Jacko's bias is overstated. He's not your average idiotic Yankee fan who just covers his ears and yells 'YANKEES RULE, RED SOX SUCK'. That's not to say he doesn't have his biased moments, which he does, but no more so than most of the members on this site. Now, I completely understand that it's acceptable from a Red Sox fan here, because it's a Red Sox forum. I have no issue with that, but it just gets frustrating when every conversation involving Jacko turns into people calling him biased when a) that feeling comes more from the accepted narrative about Jacko rather than what he's actually saying and many of those people are guilty of similar things. By the way, on a separate note, we never revisited our Yankees' money/salary cap debate ... but point to you, after having given it more thought I'm completely in favor of MLB team salaries to be capped (and floored).
