  1. Well they can't them all. Anyway, the over/under for Jeter's 2013 WAR is at 1.
  2. A-Rod hitting everything hard ... just finding fielders this game.
  3. Just have to hope the Captain doesn't hit into a DP. EDIT: lol
  4. Well Jeter has done nothing to make people think last year was an aberration. All one can do is hope he turns it around, because we know he's going to stay at SS and hit at the top of the order.
  5. One ball out of the infield for Derek so far this year. Nice contract. Anyway, with this staff, the Yankees are going to have plenty of games like this. Just got to hope the offense keeps it up.
  6. Should be Robertson or Joba now. Have to keep yourself in the game.
  7. Oh dear. It's not about bunting. It's about putting the ball in play, at the very least.
  8. Disappointing inning. Gardner, at the very least, needs to get Martin over to third. Should be tied.
  9. Why is Hughes still in?
  10. The people that talk about Hughes improving on last year are just unrealistic. This isn't an overreaction to one game ... it's just because he has never shown a consistent ability to put hitters away once getting them to two strikes.
  11. Miggy scared him off from the curve ball at two strikes. And for good reason ... it's not sharp enough to get swings and misses.
  12. Wow Hughes can't even finish AJax. No put away pitch as a starter.
  13. A-Rod is absolutely raking, but that was a great play by Raburn.
  14. Also Phil Hughes can't finish off hitters.
  15. More stupid pitch selection with two strikes. They really make a habit of this. Same exact thing happened the last time Miggy faced Phil Hughes.
  16. Really? It's not like the season is less than 2% over or anything.
  17. As someone that has AdGon on my fantasy team, it's really frustrating that he's hitting fifth. Anyway Texas looks like they haven't missed a beat, at least on offense. Beltre should fill Vlad's role very nicely.
  18. I realize there's a justification. There has to be. But not all justifications are valid, and this one isn't. Eight million dollars over two years is overpaying to begin with, especially for a guy who Cashman acknowledges is due for injury.
  19. One more negative to touch on. Cashman complained today about how Feliciano was abused by the Mets. If you thought he was abused, why give him two guaranteed years? Brilliant Cash, brilliant. Anyway, nice win. There are obviously some things they need to clean up, but over the first two games the Yankees are winning exactly how people expected them to.
  20. Freaking awful. That's why you choose your utility infielder based on defense.
  21. Rivera getting up too late. You want him in before the tying run gets up.
  22. I know it has been said a million times, but this game will be decided by Butler's ability to force VCU to play inside the arc on offense. If they can do that, they win.
  23. It's very early, but it seems like all the talk from Spring Training about A-Rod feeling healthy and locked in is legitimate. It's not just the solid contact, but he's controlling ABs the way he was before the hip injury.
