Here's my main issue with Girardi. It's not even how many bad moves he makes. It's that, so often, he's inconsistent. Tonight is a perfect example. Protecting the arm of one pitcher, while not doing the same for another.
I'm not usually one to applaud insults, but sometimes you have to just give credit where credit is due ... and the following is the best one I've ever seen on this site (not that it's necessarily true either, not offering an opinion there) ...
"Newton once said he was able to see so far (in the advancement of science) by standing on the shoulders of giants (the scientists that preceded him). I guess you are content to stand on the shoulders of midgets (Sterling and Palodios)."
I started watching in 1996, but I probably didn't appreciate the intricacies of the game until around 2000. I've watched old games, but I really wish I was around to see some of those guys on a consistent basis.
First game I can remember going to is game 2 of the 1996 ALDS.
