  1. I can't believe you actually think all star selections is more valid as evidence than statistics. We've clearly reached an impasse, no point in discussing this any further.
  2. This has been some kind of season.
  3. 2010 UZR/150 Ranking: First in all of baseball 2011 UZR/150 Ranking: Second in all of baseball
  4. You don't think he's a good on-base guy? Or an excellent defender?
  5. Instead of just saying he sucks ... how about you explain to us why he sucks, because there is a lot of compelling evidence to the contrary.
  6. The best team in the NBA can't win two straight home games (where they've only lost once this entire postseason due to a flukey comeback)? Said it from the beginning and I'm sticking to it ... Miami in 7.
  7. Should have had someone up already.
  8. And Martin's crazy pitch selection does not help. EDIT: Oops, meant Cervelli. And even there, the right pitch on 0-2 to Hunter is the FB up, but why would you go to the two seamer instead of the four seamer. You're looking for velocity, not movement.
  9. Watching what's happening to Bart today ... I just don't understand why this doesn't happen more often. His location isn't all that much worse than normal. The problem is that he has one pitch, and the other team knows that. It's the main reason why I think he has to regress significantly as the season progresses.
  10. Disappointing by expected. Rafa is awesome.
  11. Such a great weapon when he can land them, especially against Nadal who often pushes himself back well behind the baseline.
  12. He'll regret the drop shot on set point for awhile ... especially considering it's a shot that hasn't been working for him. You can't bring anything less than your A game if you want to beat Rafa at the French, and Federer just didn't today.
  13. Robbie swinging at ball four twice. Unsurprising.
  14. The idea that the only thing Shaq had going for him was size is just flat out false. He was incredibly agile for someone his size, and had excellent touch around the rim.
  15. I don't think Ivan Nova is capable of missing a bat. He really is awful.
  16. I disagree. I don't think Cano deserves it, but I think Russell Martin does.
  17. The Yankees would be lucky if Haren misses his start, but on this road trip, if anything, they've been unlucky. In Seattle they had to face King Felix and Pineda. In three games versus Oakland they had to face their three best pitchers. In LA they have to face Weaver, and Haren is still scheduled to make his start. The Yankees offense has been very impressive on this road trip, and it has nothing to do with luck.
  18. Well played game all around. Could have even scored more runs if it weren't for some bad luck (but also could have scored less if it weren't for the bad call at home).
  19. But as usual, he's working through it, and having success. Big DP.
  20. The command isn't there for CC today, like it has been as of late.
  21. Andruw Jones ... HOFer?
  22. Even if they hold on today it's still a disappointing weekend, but that comes with one important positive ... Robbie Cano looks like he might be finally coming around.
