  1. Freddy really lives and dies with his splitter. Often times it seems like it's the only pitch he trusts.
  2. Despite my criticisms Nova was really good tonight ... best start of his big league career.
  3. But the two curves his threw this inning were filthy.
  4. Good start, but Ivan Nova ... ugh.
  5. Haha well if you want to continue to discuss it, by all means, I just don't think either of us are going to present any new arguments. My main point, though, is just to point out that he continues to play well ... which he has for much of this season and much of last season.
  6. But there's no sense in getting into this discussion again ... we both have pretty firm stances on the topic. EDIT: Just saw your latest post ... yup, very well argued.
  7. Just another day at the office for Brett. HR, double, single, and a very nice catch in LCF. 4th OFer!!!!!
  8. Sarcastic ... got on twice more today and made the biggest defensive play of the game. At this point I've just heard one too many dumb things said about Gardner not to take a sarcastic jab every now and then.
  9. Brett Gardner: proving day in and day out that he's a 4th OFer
  10. I could be wrong, but I think Reyes finishes out the season with the Mets ... if only because the fan backlash would be enormous if he was traded.
  11. Haha I know ... just giving a700 a hard time after Brett's game winner yesterday.
  12. Wade has been a pleasant surprise. If he keeps this up, he could pitch a decent amount of high leverage innings, as the spot for third reliever on the depth chart is wide open.
  13. Brett Gardner: 4th OFer
  14. Hard to say with him only just starting his minor league rebab stint, but my guess would be a little less than a month away.
  15. He's a sinker baller with mediocre control and an inability to miss bats. His 2011 ERA is below average, and you'll almost never see him pitch well against a team with any sort of offense. Once Colon and Hughes return, it's back to the minors for Ivan.
  16. Looking right now like Brian Gordon, who they actually signed today. Career minor leaguer, with just a handful of big league innings.
  17. Cano makes that play so well, but when he doesn't make it he looks awful ... very lazy. EDIT: And it winds up giving Texas the lead.
  18. Ivan Nova: not a Major League pitcher
  19. Haha yes ... your favorite stat.
  20. This ... unfortunately. At least there was 2009.
