  1. They're giving up the run ... nice job Alex.
  2. Joe has to stop bunting.
  3. No idea why that isn't a HR. The rule is obviously flawed because the catwalk didn't prevent that from being a HR, but based on the rule, that seems pretty clear cut.
  4. I expect Cano's OBP to improve (at least into the .350s) and his SLG to stay relatively the same (at least .510). Based on his last two years and his current BABIP (compared to his career average), I find those expectations to be reasonable.
  5. But that's not your entire point, nor is it the part that I'm rebutting.
  6. This can be done if you use the right statistics. For instance ... OPS+ ... Posada: 122 Munson: 116 Howard: 1008 I don't think Posada is a HOFer, but I think he's much closer than you're making him out to be.
  7. Jeter and Haren ... two decisions they'll regret for awhile.
  8. Unsurprising though. We knew this going in.
  9. First world problems sure are great, right?
  10. I'll elaborate on that a little bit. I get upset at Girardi when I feel like he's holding them back, which definitely happened at times the last two years. But at this point there's very little to hold back. The players are just not performing, and no manager would be able to change that.
  11. The last two games are actually very good examples of the problems this team has. They've started to score a little bit, but the starting pitching is just awful and that was going to show up eventually.
  12. Meh, they really just aren't that good.
  13. What was a really good effort through three innings has just fallen apart. He has been nothing short of horrendous this inning.
  14. All of that is well and good, but it doesn't trump the fact that there isn't an ounce of legitimate evidence to suggest that Bautista is cheating in any way. Maybe part of my stance comes from the fact that I just don't care at all about PEDs, but I just see no reason to make assumptions without any tangible support for those assumptions.
  15. This. Nothing is 'fairly obvious'. There is absolutely zero legitimate evidence to suggest he is cheating in any way, so why in the world should we basically assume that he is?
  16. The sooner Cervelli goes the better. And yeah, Price and Shields the next two games. Hello .500.
  17. No, but maybe he becomes a part time player.
