  1. CC appears to be running out of gas a little bit. He doesn't seem to have the same control as he did in the first few innings, and he has given up some shots. Considering it's his second start, it's definitely not a big deal.
  2. When exactly do you expect this to be a realistic option, regardless of whether or not it makes sense?
  3. CC is getting everything tonight as long as he hits Posada's glove. He did a nice job getting out of that jam, with an assist to the home plate ump on the strikeout.
  4. Everything about CC's fastball today is much better than it was on Monday. It's been enjoyable to watch so far.
  5. Well considering how drawn out that process was, I would expect him to be out for the year.
  6. Teixiera got scratched from the lineup because of a sore wrist. Hopefully it isn't serious.
  7. I would imagine that they would just keep it with Joba following CC. I don't think the order that these guys pitch in really matter to the Yankees, except that they seemed to make a point to separate CC and Burnett. However, who knows if they'll juggle the rotation at some point, maybe for a series against the Red Sox or something. I don't know if they've announced pitching plans that far down the road.
  8. Yeah, and I guess a secondary goal is that it allows CC to pitch the home opener (granted I recognize that means little to me, and probably little to the Yankees).
  9. Nice clean game today. They should have had more off of Ponson, especially considering how he was pitching early in the game, but it'll come with time. They've been hurt offensively in these first four games because they're cleanup hitter has one hit thus far. Obviously that won't be the case for very long. On to tomorrow, when hopefully CC can rebound. It's really nice to have baseball back, I find myself looking forward to the next game very soon after each game ends.
  10. I would say it's pretty close. I think what Pettitte gives you with the innings, not to mention the fact that ERA's are lower gives him the advantage. As for today, he has looked pretty sharp, although I would guess just from watching that he has been the beneficiary of some gift calls.
  11. Obviously that's an overstatement, but wouldn't you agree that he's not your typical number four starter? I think that is the main point the announcers are trying to get at...
  12. Outside of Olympic Stadium, the Metrodome was probably my least favorite place to watch a baseball game. I'm not really sure why. I sat in the upper deck and it just seemed incredibly steep, but, beyond that, it was just not a very comfortable place. I'm glad they're getting a new park.
  13. It really is a great park. Definitely in my top five in terms of modern stadiums. For me though, I'm not sure if any of the modern stadiums can top AT&T park. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing games in the two New York parks though.
  14. Tough way to start the year. I'll say this though, I wouldn't be surprised to see more of the same from this bullpen. I'm relatively optimistic about everything besides the bullpen. Anyway, hopefully Wang and Burnett will fair better.
  15. Well, Sabathia just couldn't control his fastball today, which was ultimately his downfall. You would have expected that 3-2 pitch to Scott with the bases loaded to have been a fastball, and I think it is very telling that it wasn't. The YES announcers were trying to play up some kind of injury based on him using a heating pad between innings, but I'm guessing it was more that he just pitched poorly. There doesn't need to always be an excuse. Big home run there from Matsui puts them right back in the game. Good stuff.
  16. Haha thanks, I've always loved his stuff. Intentionally on unintentionally that hit and run was executed very nicely.
  17. And he does not disappoint!
  18. Much better inning although Scott did hit the ball right on the nose. Now the most revered Yankees' prospect since Mickey Mantle gets his first AB of the year. Exciting stuff.
  19. Hopefully CC rebounds in the second. Just needs to start commanding his fastball better. And it's great to have baseball back.
  20. Just weird. Unfortunately the guy seeks attention.
  21. I may really be missing something, but I don't think crespo was the one who made that analogy.
