  1. Too close to take I guess, but that was outside.
  2. Class at 3 but I couldn't agree more.
  3. How exactly do you know Chamberlain wouldn't have gotten hurt if he had stayed in the bullpen?
  4. I went back and watched the replay where C.M. Wang got hurt running the bases in Houston. I guess I just didn't realize it the first time, but if you look closely you see a man run onto the field and push Wang, causing his injury. It's strange, but the guy looks a lot like Brian Cashman...
  5. Ugh, I think that might do it. Whatever, I'm a dumb enough fan to keep watching.
  6. He's being dumb but I can't help but root for him now.
  7. It was more in response to Gom's constant bashing of the general manager.
  8. No way man! Seriously?!?! I didn't know that the players could be held accountable for the teams success. Amazing.
  9. And Gom, I know you love Stick Michael, but he was famous for refusing to trade some of his younger players and his prospects to teams for established Major Leaguers. It worked out, so you think he did a great job, but your opinion might have been vastly different of him at the time.
  10. JHB...I also consider Epstein to be the better GM. Also, I know that you only looked at what Cashman has done from 2003 on because that is when Theo took over the Red Sox, but I think it is also important to check what Cashman did prior to that. I know the comparison can only begin in 2003, but for the sake of just analyzing Cashman, lets go back to 1998 - 2002... I understand that a large part of those championship teams were developed prior to 1998, but Cashman acquired some significant players as well. He was able to acquire Chuck Knoblauch almost immediately after taking over as GM, a trade that Bob Watson was unable to complete during his two years as GM. He traded for Roger Clemens. He didn't trade Andy Pettitte, even though there was pressure on him to do so. He acquired David Wells (1997). He signed El Duque. He signed Mike Mussina. Obviously we don't know that all of these moves were made because of him, but considering we're giving Epstein credit for the players the Red Sox acquired we might as well do the same for Cashman.
  11. Typical Yankee fans. Lets boo the teams most productive position this year.
  12. Crayton should probably focus on catching the ball when he has a chance to practically win a game for his team in the playoffs instead of talking smack before the season. Just a thought... EDIT: I think he has a little Freddie Mitchell in him. Must be an NFC East thing.
  13. Yeah, I heard about Taylor. So now both teams are without their best defensive players. Should be a good game, how has Campbell looks so far in preseason?
  14. Alright, not off to a good start for my team, but injuries are part of the game. Looking forward to September 4th... ORS, you're a Skins fan right?
  15. I'm not an optimist. I'm just not abandoning my team. But if they win the next two and are four out with a month to play they're not dead...
  16. Ugh, good games guys. Yanks need to win the next two or my remaining hope is going to soon evaporate.
  17. RS, are those Wakefield's stats vs. the Yankees in New York, because his numbers at Fenway would be pretty irrelevant tonight.
  18. Huge game tonight, at least for the Yankees. It is important for the Yankees to win pretty much every time Pettitte and Mussina pitch considering the state of the rest of the rotation. Wakefield has not been as good against the Yankees in recent years, and the Yankees bats are starting to heat up. I think the Yanks do some scoring tonight, so it'll come down to whether Pettitte can keep the Red Sox bats in check.
  19. It would also be worth mentioning (even though I'm sure everyone is aware) that the Yankees have made the playoffs every year in which Cashman was the general manager, although this year could be different.
  20. I'm not going to break down the entire article right now, but when he mentions A-Rod as "the primary culprit" he loses a lot of credibility.
  21. As long as he is in decent shape I think it's a good move. The Giants do not have a difficult schedule at the beginning, and once that part is finished Strahan should be back in football shape. Jacko, I'm just curious, are you a Giants fan or a Jets fan because I thought I remember you saying you were a fan of both or something like that?
  22. http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=120824&id=948 Definitely beginning to look like a possibility.
