  1. I'm sure he's available, many players are available, but that doesn't mean that Cashman is aggressively looking to deal him. I'm willing to bet that if he doesn't think he receives an offer close to what he would have had before this season, he wouldn't make a trade.
  2. Sorry for the wait. Marlon Byrd, OF (David DeJesus to the bench)
  3. Nowhere in that post does it say that Cashman is actually considering trading Wang. More assumptions from you.
  4. In a way, this pisses me off that Posada is hitting here. Unless Posada was unavailable, which clearly isn't the case, this move should have been made in the seventh inning.
  5. Well, the Mariners are not a good offensive team, and they really hit CC. As bad as it was, there were some hard hit balls that were caught, and it could have been worse. CC was up with his fastball and change. His velocity going up has coincided with his strikeout totals increasing. However, he hasn't been able to maintain the same control.
  6. Can't believe he's letting Cervelli hit here, unless Posada really can't play.
  7. Looked like CC might have got robbed of one there, in a pretty big spot.
  8. Horrible pitch selection. CC has to know that you can't get Ichiro on the same strikeout pitch in back to back outing. That would have been the perfect spot for a fastball in. EDIT: Should not still be in the game.
  9. And just when you think CC is going to start to settle down... Weird outing so far. Threw the ball well in the first and third. Not so much in the second and fourth. EDIT: He also can't get his change down in the zone.
  10. Why are they running with one of their best players up...
  11. I completely understand that, considering, like you said, you weren't old enough in 1986 to be a fan. I was around a decent amount of Red Sox fans that night at Yankee Stadium. It was the best game I've ever been to, all things considered, even better than watching them win the whole thing in 1999. I was thrilled. However, I've never seen more pain on people's faces over a sporting event. It was quite an experience.
  12. For me, and the Yankees fans that I know, "suffering the wrath of 86 years of frustration" is not that big a deal. Obviously there are Yankee fans that despise the Red Sox. I root against the Red Sox in almost every game they play, but not because I hate them. In most situations, them losing benefits the Yankees. I care about the Yankees winning. I hope the majority of Yankee fans feel this way too.
  13. I'm not saying this to start drama, or anything like that, and this might not be the case for you guys. However, I really believe that a lot of Red Sox fans feel this way because they want to feel like their team gave the Yankees and their fans their worst loss.
  14. Very shaky start for CC. Bad fastball location. Very similar, in my opinion, to the way he pitched in the Mets start. The Mets just didn't have the hitters to make him pay.
  15. Well, I can't say you don't know what the 2001 loss, because you experienced it in 1986 (assuming you were old enough). 2004 was awful, for all the reasons that have been mentioned, but it wasn't like being two outs away from a championship.
  16. In your opinion. It's almost like you're making this out to be something that is an absolute, and not a personal opinion. I'm not going to debate this with you, because there is no point.
  17. For me, far above anything else, it was worse because of number 3. Rivera strikes out the side in eighth. Bottom of the order coming up in the ninth. Two outs away from a championship. Two strikes on Womack. Not to mention it was all made possible because of Rivera's error. That was rough. Don't get me wrong, 2004 was horrible, and it's very close between the two. Maybe it would have been worse for me than 2001 if I made a habit of taunting Red Sox fans, like J_E mentioned.
  18. Haha, I honestly really don't think my posts show bias. And, for what it's worth, I would take Youkilis. As you pointed out, he has the best numbers.
  19. I never said I would take Teixeira...
  20. Never said he was any good.
  21. He has a .845 OPS on the road. If you realized that, and the last comment was about Teixeira in general, I apologize. I just thought I would clarify. Anyway, the point is that there is no way you can call Teixeira's road numbers "well below average".
  22. Not once did I say that I think it's a really good move, or that Hinske's a really good player. My only contentions were that this move was made in response to Xavier Nady being out for the year, and that Hinske is a better offensive player than Ramiro Pena.
