  1. This is really getting so frustrating with A-Rod. The 0-1 pitch was right down the middle. Throughout this whole slump, he keeps seeing pitches to hit, he's just not hitting them.
  2. Teixeira being over aggressively almost cost the Yankees there. Not a great inning from Wang...
  3. Ugh, CMW slider is bad news.
  4. Haha, ok, I didn't realize it was a joke. I mean, teams could have the game plan to attack early in the count, so I guess it's possible anyway.
  5. No, I mean, it has nothing to do with watching on TV or watching on Gameday. I just think my scenario is more logical.
  6. If your starter doesn't make it through five innings, and the bullpen has to enter with second and third, nobody out, and one of the best 2-5 in baseball coming up? No, I wouldn't.
  7. And, in the situation you presented, I wouldn't be confident no matter who I had in my bullpen.
  8. I never said the Yankees bullpen was as good as the Sox. However, right now, it's not nearly as bad as people seem to think. Also, do I really sound that confident?
  9. I agree. However I don't expect that Yankees to do that. I was only refuting the claim about the bullpens.
  10. I have to disagree with this. Don't get me wrong, I think the Red Sox are a better team, but not because of the bullpen. Right now, for the most part, I actually feel pretty good about the Yankees bullpen. For most of the season all they had going for them was Mariano Rivera at the end of games, Alfredo Aceves, and, at times, Phil Coke. That is not good. However, right now, the bullpen could not be more different. If Brian Bruney stays healthy he can be very valuable to this team in the 8th, and the guy who is probably the best out of the group is Phil Hughes. Personally, I think the Yanks plan to keep Hughes in the bullpen for awhile. So... Closer: Mariano Rivera Setup: Brian Bruney Setup: Phil Hughes MR: Alfredo Aceves The Yankees have a lot of problems, but for the first time this year, the bullpen is not one of the bigger problems.
  11. Don't you put a lot of stock into the, "Things are never as good as they seem when you're winning and things are never as bad as they seem when you're losing", idea?
  12. Sorry about the wait. Jose Arredondo, RP
  13. Melky made a bad throw, but A-Rod could have cut it off and chose not to. I'm shocked that someone who watches the games like you is putting all the blame on Melky. And he didn't airmail the throw. It didn't go over anybody's head. It was just offline, but not to the point where it couldn't be cutoff.
  14. That the Red Sox are going to win the division, but if you weren't then my apologies (not that I have any problem even if you were implying that).
  15. Pretty good pitch to hit. Middle in and up. Can't blame him for swinging. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/numlocation.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_06/day_21/gid_2009_06_21_nyamlb_flomlb_1//pbp/pitchers/434637.xml&batterX=090621_201636&innings=yyyyyyyyy&s_type=1&sp_type=1&h_size=700&v_size=500
  16. A-Rod has to cut that ball off.
  17. If his injury is actually what was reported, do you know for a fact that that kind of injury leads to other things or are you just guessing?
  18. Haha yeah, I wasn't trying to be a dick about it, just figured I would point it out.
  19. Cody Ross bats righty and throws lefty.
  20. Don't get caught up in the words. A-Rod has played every game (and nearly all of them at 3b) since coming off the DL. Recently, he has really struggled. He's getting some rest. He'll either be back in the lineup Sunday or in Atlanta.
  21. Barry Bonds for both. What he did at the plate, steroids or no steroids, is incredible. EDIT: I didn't realize you were looking for two names. I would have to think about another one. I've seen almost every player in person that I've seen on TV.
  22. Well, ok, I can give you that. My point was that when he gets to two strikes, he doesn't automatically try to shorten up his swing and go the other way. A-Rod has a very similar approach no matter what the count is.
