  1. I think that's unfair, and it's completely conjecture. Where did Roddick loosen up and play like it was in the bag? The second set tie break? The only point there that is truly Roddick's fault is the point at 6-5. Every tennis player, even Roger Federer, makes errors. One of his errors just happened to come at a very unfortunate time.
  2. I realize that. I was responding to BoSox21 giving him credit for not making the move (I did quote him). He doesn't deserve credit for that.
  3. It wasn't his decision. EDIT: There is more to it than the simple fact that the move did not happen.
  4. How can you give Theo credit for not acquiring A-Rod? The Red Sox front office wanted to do the deal. The ownership simply wasn't going to pony up all the money to cover his contract. The tried to cut down the deal, and it was rejected by the player's union. Theo was all for acquiring A-Rod...
  5. Federer hit a winner at 6-2 off serve and then held the two points on his serve to get it to 6-5. There wasn't much Roddick could do on those three points, besides maybe hitting a service winner at 6-2. The point he had the best chance to win was the one at 6-5.
  6. Another home run for Vlad. He's really starting to heat up.
  7. Never said he was. I would be the first person to say that his bullpen stint in 2007 created ridiculous expectations for him. Joba, overall, has had very good results considering his age and amount of experience. However, everything I said is true. He has never been able to hit spots with his fastball. When he pitched out of the bullpen, he got away with it, because he had more velocity. The same isn't true with him starting. On top of that, he seems to be getting a lot less swings and misses on his slider. I'm not advocating that they send him back to the bullpen. However, his lack of control is a concern to me.
  8. Absolutely not. I've been saying the same things before, and I specifically remember saying it in his last start. Common, you've watched his games. Say what you want about Joba, but he rarely hits his spots.
  9. Wow, Robinson Cano makes the worst decisions. How he didn't get benched for a game after what happened yesterday is beyond me.
  10. This is really getting to be ridiculous. The home run that Hill hit never should have gotten out, and Matsui's was even worse. This one from Matsui, and one that A-Rod hit on the Saturday game against the Mets, are two that really stick out.
  11. Which recent Yankee win, besides maybe yesterday, is undeserved?
  12. This rotation is a huge issue. EDIT: Joba has horrendous control, whether he is walking people or leaving the ball up in the zone. He almost never hits his spot. Joba, more than any other pitcher, is really hurting this team.
  13. Joba is really brutal to watch.
  14. The volley he missed at the net in the second set tie break at 6-5 is the one shot he'll really regret.
  15. On top of what CD said, they don't expect CMW to be out too long.
  16. Cannot pitch David Robertson in high leverage situations. No control.
  17. Robinson Cano cannot bat behind A-Rod. This is getting ridiculous.
  18. Wow, they're really hitting Halladay hard. They've scored three runs, and they've actually been somewhat unlucky.
  19. Easily the best CMW has looked so far this year.
  20. Robinson Cano is awful with men on base.
  21. Surprisingly, Halladay does not look particularly sharp.
  22. Ahead 0-2 and he walks Overbay. The problem with Wang, more than anything, is his lack of control. Seems like a theme with Yankee pitchers.
  23. Stereotypes never tell the whole story.
