  1. I realize that, but you were talking about what he does with two strikes in a previous post. Our whole argument comes down to the fact that you think his swing is messed up because he is trying to hit the ball out of the ballpark. You have no idea if that's the case. He could, and likely is, just having a horrible slump. You also said that he needs to shorten his swing up with two strikes. A-Rod has never done that.
  2. They continue to miss great pitches to hit.
  3. He goes the other way no matter what the count is. A-Rod is at his best when he's going to center and right center. It has nothing to do with being down in the counts. Take a look at his strikeout numbers. They are always high. A-Rod striking out is not rare, no matter how well he is doing. This is mainly due to the fact that A-Rod, admittedly, is a guess hitter, even when he gets to two strikes. He doesn't have a typical approach at the plate.
  4. Slammed his head against the outfield wall.
  5. I give him a lot of credit for getting the ball to Damon, so they could get it back into the infield. I really hope he's ok.
  6. His strikeout totals, every year, even if he is playing well, are always high. This is mainly due to the fact that he doesn't shorten up, which you pointed out. That is no different than any other year. In one of his MVP years, 2005, he set a career high in K's.
  7. Horrible AB from Matsui is what really cost them there. Also, some nice defense from the Nats.
  8. I'm not going to do that. His swing looks bad right now, but we don't know why. It's more likely just because he's struggling in, in my opinion.
  9. Right. Common, are we really going to pin A-Rod's failures on Girardi. I advocated in the other thread for switching them in the lineup, but lets blame A-Rod for A-Rod's failures.
  10. Jose Veras, because of the injury to Bruney, was given a bigger role. He proved he couldn't succeed, and was relegated to only pitching in situations when the game was out of hand. He is no longer on the team.
  11. Lol, I expect the posters who jumped all over the guy who talked about Bard's eyes to do the same in this case.
  12. His bullpen management? He isn't working with much. What, exactly, are you going to pin on him?
  13. And you're completely wrong about A-Rod. He is getting pitches to hit. He is just not hitting.
  14. Yeah, Girardi has made some mistakes, but he is still putting a very talented team out onto the field every day. The players deserve much more of the blame then Girardi does.
  15. They need a home run. Because I'm not sure they can string together enough hits to sustain a rally.
  16. Not all of us wanted Torre gone, but yeah, I agree. But most of this isn't even Girardi's fault, it's just that people who wanted Torre out shouldn't be calling for Girardi out as well.
  17. Jackson, honestly, stop complaining about Girardi. You wanted Torre out of here. You were in favor of bringing in someone else to manage this team, even though they made the playoffs EVERY YEAR.
  18. I really don't give myself credit here too often, but I called a couple of weeks ago (even when they were winning some games) that the offense was really starting to struggle.
  19. Comical, 3-0 to Pena...
  20. Nick Swisher is the dumbest baseball player I have ever seen. EDIT: How many mental mistakes does Nick Swisher have to make before he gets benched?
