  1. Good start for the White Sox.
  2. Figured it needed to be pointed out considering some people are giving the Angels a shot based on "law of averages" and some people are saying the Red Sox are going to win based on past postseasons.
  3. Wait a minute. Think about all the games that the Angels bullpen lost since 2002. -2004 ALDS Game 3 -2005 ALDS Game 4 -2005 ALCS Game 2 -2005 ALCS Game 5 -2007 ALDS Game 2 -2008 ALDS Game 2 -2008 ALDS Game 4 With that being said, their bullpen is weaker this year than in the past. Also, the Red Sox past success against the Angels will have absolutely no bearing on the outcome of this series.
  4. It's pretty stupid of the author to use Bobby Thompson's home run as an example of sign stealing. What the Twins may or may not be doing is very different than what the Giants might have been doing. It's been alleged that the Giants were using a telescope from center field to steal signs. That is very different than what the Twins are doing.
  5. If there's a one game playoff it would apparently be played on Tuesday because of MNF. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20091001&content_id=7268492&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  6. Scott Baker at 100 pitches and he's not even out of the 5th.
  7. That doesn't prove your point at all. I'd rather throw Chad Gaudin out there than Joba right now.
  8. Won't matter with Verlander. If he starts Game 1, along with CC, that limits both of them to two starts on regular rest (if it goes five games). If he starts Game 2 (currently lined up for that), he would still be eligible to pitch two games on regular rest. They will almost certainly choose the longer series.
  9. Gotta love that Nick Swisher defense.
  10. A no hitter is not going to improve Halladay's value.
  11. Amazing. Joe has realized that he can use Aceves more than once a week.
  12. I was thinking the same thing. Considering it probably won't be a close game, I highly doubt it.
  13. Dammit. Pavano was awful. As expected, it looks like the Yankees will have to deal with the Tigers.
  14. Pavano getting squeezed a bit.
  15. ESPN just got the year wrong that Jack Morris won the World Series with the Tigers. Amazing.
  16. Wow, Joba is brutal at this point.
  17. Really loving that Curtis Granderson defense. EDIT: Amazing how lucky Eddie Bonine just got.
  18. This is awesome... http://mynorthwest.com/?nid=374&sid=218287
  19. How was I being confrontational? I simply asked you a question, and provided my point of view. The fact of the matter is that all this experience stuff is nothing more than conjecture, yet people state it as if it's fact. For what it's worth, Jacko hit the nail on the head.
  20. What we've seen from Burnett lately has been positive (three good outings in a row), but you have to keep in mind that two of them were against the Mariners and the Royals. Those are, quite possibly, the two worst hitting teams in the AL. You're kidding yourself if you don't think Burnett is a huge question mark, and the possibility of the ALDS coming down to Burnett vs. Verlander is not a good thought.
  21. Can you give me a tangible example of experience being the reason a team won or player performed well? EDIT: If experience is so important, why did John Lackey beat Livan Hernandez in Game 7 of the 2002 World Series? I don't think anyone needs to be reminded of what Hernandez accomplished in the playoffs. I realize this is just one example, and doesn't necessarily prove my point, but I'm not the one making definitive statements.
