  1. I actually think the Yankees have a decent shot to be successful against Pedro tomorrow.
  2. Hell of a spot for Burnett tomorrow. In this park, against the Phillies lefties, I'm not optimistic.
  3. Ultimate white flag.
  4. I'd definitely like to see Hinske or Gardner in for Swisher tomorrow.
  5. Nice play, but Cano would have been out anyway.
  6. That's a good pitch from Robertson, but it'll likely put the game away.
  7. Definitely a strike. I'm impressed the umpire gave Robertson that call.
  8. Tough inning for Davis. Pretty inconsistent.
  9. So I guess Marte has surpassed Coke on the depth chart, and Joba, by default, is probably going to pass Hughes.
  10. But now Marte just received two gifts.
  11. He lost one strike during the Victorino AB.
  12. Well the bullpen is now officially an issue, outside of Rivera. Hughes has not been the same pitcher this postseason.
  13. He's gone up over 120 pitches a number of different times this year. Unless the Yankees' bottom of the order really makes him work in 8th (not going to happen), I expect to see him going the distance.
  14. They're not even going to get into the Phillies' bullpen. EDIT: Unless they want to limit his pitch count because they feel that is necessary if they want to bring him back in game four.
  15. Fair enough. I should have left the MVP part out.
  16. I made the point that he has been very streaky this year. It's a fact. It's hurting the Yankees right now. Why is there a reason to pursue this?
  17. Yankees pulling out all the stops tonight, going with the long version of God Bless America.
  18. I realize that, and I'm not being reactionary. I have said it the entire postseason. Teixeira is an excellent player, but, at least his year, he is incredibly streaky. That is an accurate observation.
  19. Pretty dumb to leave CC in here.
  20. For a guy that people talk about as an MVP candidate, Teixeira is incredibly streaky.
  21. Once again Teixeira gets ahead, once against Teixeira gets out. He has epitomized the Yankees' struggles offensively this postseason.
  22. Cannot make that kind of pitch when you're ahead in the count. In all three of Utley's ABs Sabathia has gotten way ahead, and hasn't been able to put him away once. It's been the difference in the game.
  23. What an awful job by Matsui. He's not going to accomplish anything by leaving the bag, whether the ball is caught on a fly or not. With that being said, the whole situation was set up by the awful call on the 1-1 pitch to Cano. Because it was 1-2 instead of 2-1, he was forced to swing at a pitcher's pitch. Unfortunate, but the beat goes on during this postseason.
  24. His time in Philadelphia was so streaky. Everyone only remembers how incredible he was in his first handful of starts there. They don't remember the slump he went into.
  25. Lee had a lower ERA with Cleveland than he did with Philadelphia.
