  1. The strike zone was enormous all night, for both teams. Every pitch got a few inches off the outside corner, and it was established early on.
  2. Burnett finally put together a full start tonight. He really benefitted from the wide strike zone, but the home plate ump established that pitch as a strike early. Also, as I said before, I'm very happy he bypassed Hughes and Joba, and went straight to Rivera. If the same situation presents itself in game three, I hope Girardi does the same thing.
  3. Just as many calls have gone against the Yankees this postseason, as ones that have helped them.
  4. You're going to pin that one on the Yankees?
  5. How many are on that list? He has five blown saves in the postseason. One of them was because of an error. And two were both inherited runners scoring.
  6. Pretty sure that was on his own. Damon did a similar thing in a September game against the Angels, and Joe said afterwards that Damon did it on his own. Too bad, because that 0-2 pitch was a cookie.
  7. I wanted Mo for two innings.
  8. Win or lose, I'm pleased with Girardi.
  9. Alright, well, I know AJ has looked great, but it has to be Rivera.
  10. Very good inning for AJ. He is really getting every call off the edge though. If they somehow get a lead going into the top of the 8th, it has to be Rivera.
  11. This inning will probably be Burnett's toughest task of the night. Third time through the heart of the order.
  12. I know they've only scored one run, but Pedro has not been sharp since A-Rod's first AB. On another, unrelated note, I f***ing hate Joe Girardi. He made a decision based on a 27 AB sample size. That, to me, is unbelievable. Torre used to believe in the same stupidity when it came to Enrique Wilson.
  13. Nice play by Molina. Really changed the complexion of the inning. AJ tends to really be a different pitcher out of the stretch.
  14. And AJ has gotten wild. This postseason he has pitched in spurts. We've seen a completely different AJ in the third, and so far this inning, than we saw in the first two.
  15. Absolutely nothing doing offensively. Pedro looked amazing in the first inning, but he has not looked the same since. There have been a few really hittable pitches that the Yankees batters have missed. Nothing new this postseason...
  16. As good as Howard is, he's incredibly vulnerable to breaking balls out of the zone once the count gets to two strikes.
  17. Nice to make Pedro work, but they just cannot string together any hits. One of the reasons why Hinske should be in there.
  18. Good start for Pedro. Hey, another hittable pitch for Teixeira, another pop-up. It is expected at this point.
  19. I agree, but they can't afford that luxury with AJ's personal catcher in there.
  20. I agree, but Swisher is horrible as well, and Hairston is not much better. All I'm saying is that I think the defensive difference is marginal at best, so you have to go with what works offensively.
