  1. For anyone who is getting the Mets/Braves game and not watching, that game is going into the top of the ninth. So hopefully that ends in three outs, and then FOX will take us to the Red Sox/Rays game.
  2. I can only see it on Gameday ... did Ellsbury just break from second too early, and Niemann was able to step off?
  3. Yeah, I second this. Anyone have a way to watch it?
  4. Really nice day for the offense ... especially because of who contributed. A-Rod (injured), Teixeira (struggling), and Granderson (struggling) have all basically been non-existent coming into today's game ... and they all had really nice days. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come. The other nice thing was Soriano, who really seems to be getting in a groove. Colon, on the other hand, sucked, but hopefully it's just a blip in the radar. He had pitched quite well in his last three starts. And it's obviously a nice day for Mo.
  5. Really bad start for CC. Just like with his last start against the Angels, he was a lot worse than his line indicates. Basically had nothing tonight, and that has been said too many times about CC as of late.
  6. Been a long time since CC had really good fastball command in a start.
  7. Looks like last year's version of Shields showed up tonight ... which is a pitcher with almost no FB command. If he doesn't have that pitch working, he just doesn't have enough to setup that great changeup. The Sox probably should have had even more if not for the failure of Aviles to get down that bunt.
  8. And considering the pitching matchup, this is easily the most intriguing game of the series.
  9. I'll probably be more focused on this one than the Yankees game. This is easily the most excited I've been for a non-Yankees game all year.
  10. Just haven't found the opportunity to get the new one ... I will eventually. I've been to RFK though. Definitely looking forward to National Park though, I've heard good things.
  11. I've been to every current stadium except for Washington. Also been to about ten old stadiums.
  12. Joe's worst intentional walk ever right there.
  13. I don't see how someone could honestly say that the Sox should have went after Jimenez, even if you think they had the prospects to get a deal done.
  14. Yeah, except that the main reason why the Yankees were able to overcome those pitching problems is because of the 'low risk, high reward' signings, or whatever you want to call them.
  15. To be fair, the Yankees have been playing very poorly for almost a full week ... although that changed tonight.
  16. The fourth inning tonight was great.
  17. Phil Hughes curveball is so incredibly bad.
  18. This is spot on. Basically sums up the MLB playoffs perfectly.
  19. The best player on your isn't likely to have such an extreme weakness against off-speed pitches. The hypothetical 20 AB sampling is almost certainly a coincidence, similar to a team having an .800 winning percentage on Wednesdays.
  20. But I guess that means you would choose Player B ... which means we've reached an impasse and there just isn't much of a point to going forward.
  21. They do that as an opportunity to give the player a rest ... not because they think the replacement has a better chance than the starter.
