    If we don't get Crisp--what other options are the Sox looking at (if they are)? How many think this Crisp deal will get done, using a different reliever (Delcarmen). I am both excited and nervous about this season--it's really almost a whole new team. Most of the 2004 faces are gone but there are some exciting new possibilities. I think we lost a lot of momentum when Theo declined the offer--and that really hurt the progress of the off-season. I hope the Sox FO can make up some ground quickly. I am pretty sure the Crisp deal will get done. I think the only way the Guardians would back out of this deal would be if Marte was not included.

    "Playoffs? Playoffs? Don't talk about Playoffs...You Kidding Me? Playoffs?" haha JK I think Atlanta is a little overacheiving, but Toronto should improve as they get healthier and I doubt the Habs can play this bad for the rest of the season.

    Good game tonight, Sabres win 2-1. If not for Lundqvist, it would have been more like 6-1. Now Sabres and Rangers are tied for 4th place, but Sabres have a game in hand and 2 more wins. We saw 2 of the Rising stars tonight in goal in Miller and Lundqvist.

    I totally respect the work of Roberto, and what he did for the city of Pittsburgh, his country, and humanity. However, his number doesn't need to be retired by EVERY MLB team out there. He will forever be THE epitome of what being a baseball player is, right along with Wagner, Traynor, Clarke, Stargell, etc. This movement to try and make him out to be everyone's baseball hero is just not right.... I could not imagine the Pirates being forced to retire Ted Williams's number for example.

    Two years ago when Kobe wasn't scoring as much but was dishing the ball off to his teammates people said he was being an ass because he was passing up open shots. If he shoots alot he is selfish. If Michael Jordan had done something this amazing you guys would be going nuts, saying this was the greatest performance ever by the best player ever. Big time double standard among basketball fans. Jordan was perceived as a media darling when in all reality he is a bigger egotistical ass then Kobe is. There are countless stories of Jordan shunning autographs for kids, not being charitable etc., while Kobe is a willing signer for kids and does all kinds of community oriented events, yet Jordan is a God and Kobe is selfish. Proof of a double standard, Jordan took 24,537 shots in a 15 year NBA career, Kobe has taken 11,912 shots in 9 1/2 seasons. Kobe would have to more then double the pace he is on now to catch Jordan in shot attempts in the next 5 years. Jordan averaged 22.88 shots a game in his career, Kobe is 5 a game behind at 17.88. But Kobe is the ball hog?

    I hardly put up 46 shots just shooting around in the gym. As a person I think Kobe is an egomaniacal ass, but this is a game our kids will be asking about. Probably had to check into a hotel after the game to "unwind"

    No, I don't, but I think it has to end at some point and we'll both say our good-bye's and that will be the end of it, I just think some people just won't let it go, and I think they will fall in love with Coco if this trade goes through.

    The scouts love Marte. He may well turn into a star at the MLB level. He's never hit .300 in the minors, and he's never led a league in hrs' or rbis'. Crisp has hit .297 & .300 in the 2 seasons he played over 100 games at the Major League level. Coco is 26. He's signed through 2009. It's not like the Sox traded Marte for Kenny Lofton. The distance between Crisp's upside and Damon's upside is much larger than Crisp vs. Marte. Crisp will still be a very productive player long after Damon has ridden off into the sunset.

    OK, lets put this to an end...Marte has better upside no doubt but more realistic to be a producer would be Crisp. He's already showed that he can play in the MLB and Marte hasn't. A player can have al the upside in the world but still might not be able to be a big league player. Crisp fills 2 big holes for our team. Lead off Batter and CF with respectively similiar numbers to Damon with far less downside and costs a lot less for a strong FA next year. I'd rather have a cheap proven player that fills holes and leaves us cash for next years FA's then leave 2 huge holes and have a unproven player with upside. After next season, Sign Torii Hunter for CF, move Crisp to RF and let Trot go and have an OF of Manny, Torii, and Coco.
