well, i almost forgot but thanks to a couple pm's i remember where shall we start? last week i posted about the manny and renteria situation, that was taken well. should we talk about kelly or hazel? lets go with hazel. apparently hazel mae is from alaska.. she met tito somehow (not sure if it was when the sox were up north or when a canadian team traveled to boston) but she met him. they started hooking up and she was told (not sure by who) to get a boob job and she would have the job at NESN. well, she DOES have the job at NESN (she's terrible) but are her boobs fake? i'll let you guys decide. discuss john p.s.- next week, who SLAMS kelly :thumbsup:

i just passed on tickets for tonights game.. was going to go but decided i'de rather spend the money on a nice summer night game than sit in the freezing cold rain tonight. john

it's still early on.. not that i'm cheering against paps but liriano throws complete filth.. i've seen him pitch 3 times this season and it's been amazing. he's going to be a stud. john

the C on his jersey does belong in front.. it wasn't a random mistake.. as for tek earning his money. unless he's another pudge, and i don't mean i-rod he won't earn the 4 year 40 mill.... his bat speed is garbage at the end of the season. john

my name is HOV.... i mean.. wait, it's john. some of you know me, some of you don't. i post very erratically, i'll be on here everyday for a month then i'll be gone for 5 months. there have been many great additions since the oldschool talksox forums and there have been many not so greats. i think it would be nice to just say hi to everyone who doesn't know me. my name is john and i've been a sox fan since i was a child. my first trip to fenway park was when i was 6 and my 2nd trip to fenway was the last game clemens pitched in fenway as a member of the bosox. since then i've been to many many more games. i am a student at northeastern univerisity and i spent 2 years living on commonwealth ave. my pad was a 5 minute walk from fenway and i often spent the summers sitting on the roof with my pals watching the sox game and hearing the HR cheers before the HR was hit on tv. i love the red sox with all my heart, i'm a very passionate poster, i may offend you at times, i may make you laugh, i may not. i am a stat head. ive read baseball prospectus 2004 and 2005 from cover to cover. 2006 is at the post office (finals week, no time to pick it up), moneyball has been one of my favorite baseball books, i think it's a great story. my favorite player is pedro martinez my favorite game was the 1999 alds game 5: nomar had a homer in the 1st inning and had 2 IBB that were both followed by troy o'leary homeruns (one was a grandslam, first in sox posteason history i think) and pedro coming out of the pen throwing 5 innings of PERFECT relief. my favorite pitching performance was kerry woods 20K game. i personally feel that it was the best game every pitched, it should have been a 20K perfect game, the hit was an E5 easily. my least favorite game was obviously game 7 of the 2003 alcs i live in jamaica plains now, i'm still short walk (10 mins) to fenway, i've been to 3 games this year and tonights game was the first game i've missed this season (gross anatomy final tomorrow) and will be at plenty more this summer. well there ya go.. that's me in a nutshell. john

before you start reading what i have to write you must have an open mind. if you don't have an open mind then you might as well stop because you will not believe what you are about to read. first off, this comes from a very credible source, i don't want to get it blown out of proportions, NOR do i want the story to chance from person to person. i'm telling everyone here because i know most people are interested in the red sox organization and interested in why players demand a trade / get traded. as many of you know, manny demanded a trade this offseason. the matter of fact was that it wasn't manny who demanded the trade. it was manny's agent speaking for his wife. you may ask, why would manny's wife demand the sox trade her husband? the fact of the matter is she's the one who put the house on sale, she's the one who contacted the agent and said he has to be traded. the reason behind all of this was because manny was hooking up with renteria's wife. manny's wife found out and she said it that manny had to be traded. the red sox began to take offers because they wanted to keep her satisfied. it finally came down to who are we going to trade, manny or renteria. it wasn't a tough decision, the future HOF or the SS who had the most E in the league. so there you have it people, i'm sure no one saw this coming, when this news came to me i couldn't believe it myself. john p.s.- who wants to know how hazel really got her job with NESN? :thumbsup:

that's because they are the 2 best players in the minors. but he basically ruined himself for a good amount of time. but this isn't football, this is baseball. if the kid can play he'll get paid. i wish baseball was more like football sometimes. football teams pay for private investigators before they draft players.. charcater actually matters in the NFL draft. john

BS, because if he was the yankees would easily be on top of the AL east with ZERO losses. i don't see what the big deal is. alot of people who have worn the yankee pinstripes are tainted. the babe himself with a slob who drank and smoked all the time and never gave a rats ass about his health, how about the others who were wife beaters? c'mon, you can't just single a guy out cus he did steroids. big deal, alot of people did steroids it was part of the game (unfortunately) it's time we moved on, not dwell in the past. people deserve to be forgiven, it's part of life. john

how the hell do you plan on getting out of his contract? we signed him for 7 mill a year to pitch for us and that's what he's doing. in fact, he's doing a pretty decent job of it so far. he got injured, it happens. don't burn the guy cus he got injured, paps is the closer and foulke is pitching well. the fact that he's not complaining shows that he's a man. john

it's funny that you guys bash on foulke.. his numbers are deceptivce. his hr came out of willy mo's glove.. timlin also let in 2 runs that foulke put on base.. he's been good out of the been good out oft he pen this year. john

"Ogilvie-Harris's recommended rehab would see Burnett take two weeks completely off while receiving such treatments as ultrasound and interferential (electric currents), followed by another two weeks of strength work focused only on the elbows, biceps and triceps with a sophisticated isokinetic machine." wow, that sounds so "crazy" to the layman, but anyone who has had any experience in the medical field knows that it's all bs talk to sound smart. the therapeutic affects of ultrasound are still being debated, though, it can't hurt to use. the IFC is not for healing injuries dealing with scar tissues, nor is it for dealing with injuries such as ligaments. IFC's are for muscular injuries, it would puzzle me greatly to see why burnett would use any type of electronic therapy other than iontophoresis which is basically using electrical currents to push coritsone throught he skin. and the special "isokinetic" machine is just a machine that adapts for mechanical advantages in different angles of arm movement. john

how could you possibly be pissed he's on your roster? the man is a beast at the plate right now. his obp is over .500, he's hitting hr's at a great rate, he's doing everything right. he's arguably the 2nd best DH right now. john

schilling basically covered what i was going to say. ORS- not believe everything you read off the internet. in 2 years people will be calling me doctor also. does that mean everything i put on a webpage i wrote is real? of course not. in the medical field we have been taught to cross check everything with credible sources, such as textbooks etc. even when we find something in a textbook we cross it with other textbooks to make sure. i've done my fair share on steroids, hormones etc. not once has it come across to me that HGH has the ability to improve eyesight. i'm in the the middle of finals week, but once it's over and i find the time before summer semester starts i'll get back to you with solid information. john

he's been caught once, he can't be dumb enough to do it again.. the guy is a great baseball player, steroid or not he's still damn good and has a great eye. john

papelbon will NEVER be roger clemens... please don't overrate the kid. he's good but ROCKET good? NEVER. as for the pen, foulke is ready to step back as the closer in less than 2 weeks i say. he's pitching well, much better than his numbers show. john
