  1. ben sheets, jake peavy and a healthy mark prior also says HI! john
  2. then say it that simple, i know i haven't been here in a while but the first two threads i read from you are extremely condescending, just wanted to point it out before people got all over your pants for it. john
  3. you know that you don't have to respond to posts with a condescending attitude right? it's ok to not have a philosophical view about everything. john
  4. exactly crespo. i mean if the suggested trade goes through we would have traded mueller and (prospect or millar) and arroyo for romero, burnett and lowell.. it doesn't get better than that. well maybe the tek and lowe trade. HAH. john
  5. i don't see what's so special about that, you could go to yankee stadium, wait in line and get seats for 50 bucks rather than have a 1/2000 chance of going to the game. to each his/her own though. john
  6. 2nd have... laffff. john
  7. possibly is the key word.. who would take a 10 mil per ss with those numbers? not i. john
  8. still haven't grown up yet i see. john
  9. and he's only getting on base .010 better than bellhorn and slugging .008 better with only 8 more hits. he might not strike out but he's clearly grounding out / popping out or hitting into double plays. john
  10. thanks man. was gone a while cus of school, then on my week before work a couple buddies and i went to an island and partied it up. being a working man sucks. i get home at 7, rest, eat, work out, cook, eat sleep and do the same s*** the next day. what would i be without weekends. john
  11. he he... july 16th.... i just spent 12 hours at a physical therapy clinic, i'm not supposed to know the month! john
  12. my gf's sorority was given a pair of tickets to the june 16th game against the yankees at fenway park. they are bleecher seats and they are looking to sell them and donate the money to charity. i thought it would be nice to give some of you fans here a chance before i put them up on e-bay. if the admins have a problem with this shoot me an aim at ahhchon and i'll take it down. lets start the bidding at 65 bucks a piece. john
  13. he's very much unlike kim. kim was still very young when he joined the sox. the tender age of 24 (or very close to it). he threw in the high 90's (95-99). bradford has been in the league for quite some time now. been through with the white sox and the a's. this would be his second back surg. he's not going to throw gas by people, he throws in the mid to low 80's. he relies on being "deceptive" and relies on ground balls for outs. with ole, bellhorn, renteria and youk/mueller he should be ok as a sox. it'll be fun, he was nasty in every one of his postseason relief appearances i've seen. john
  14. none of those make any sense, looper is not a dominant closer. his era is above 4. why would you trade away your potential future catcher for looper, especially when the mets weakest point is their pen. payton for bradford is rumored, i would love to have bradford, some good knuckle grinding relief i haven't heard much about qualls so i won't mention that the last one is just silly. what would florida do with looper? he's "ok" at best. they are still in the run and downgrading a pitcher isn't exactly what they want to do imo. tj is doing fine in fl,i doubt they would really be looking for another closer. john
  15. thanks dude, no seriously, thanks. john
  16. good thing matsui reads this forum.. you got him good my friend! john
  17. are you sure you're a red sox fan? what kind of fan wants to see their team lose 100 games than have a HOF, 2 future HOF and a monster in his prime 1b? pedro was nothing but awsome as a sox clemens (i was too young to understand how awsome he really was) was awsome for the sox wade was the man, what an eye mo was fun as hell, i don't know what he said to me but i remember laughing a lot when he signed my plastic helmet but yeah, they are complete dicks, according to the media. john
  18. no doubt, the fact that he could be working too hard and have a worse 2nd half. but chances are he could do just as well if not better, considering it's only going to get warmer. if we traded pedro 3 years ago we most likely wouldn't have won the world series in 04 and we most definately would not have gotten to the alcs in 2003. in all seriousness though, you would have traded pedro after his 2002 season? the season where he was 20-4, has an era of 2.26 and showed no signs of slowing down??? it's easy to say that now after a 2004 season that showcased a mortal pedro, but other than 2004 pistol pete was almost untouchable in his whole redsox career. 1.74-2.89 was his era range, mainly in the low 2's with the exception of the 3.9 2004. you would have been burned alive if you traded the best pitcher in baseball. john
  19. ha ha, your buttons are way too big and you have way too many of them. :harhar: john
  20. i don't know what the big deal is. the game was a lost long before embree got on the mound, it didn't really matter. it would have taken another handful of ortiz bombs to have made it a game. the point of the matter is that he's a sox and we should support him. foulke on the other hand has an era of 6+, where is the bitching? we still use him in close situations, he still blows saves here and there, he still allows runs to score... wouldn't that be of a larger concern than a guy that eats up innings and allows the rest of our bullpen to have some sort of arm by the end of the season? everyone here speaks as if they know how to pitch. it is extremely difficult to pitch, especially in the al east. i personally don't see how coming to an internet forum and bitching like a girl is going to help embree pitch better. sit back, enjoy the show, it's not even mid season yet. john
  21. do you know what letting goes mean? we could have signed him but chose not to, therefore we let him go.... we even had priority to sign him before any teams and we didn't get it done either. pedro was more than good for his time. have you even looked at his numbers while on the sox? check the link in my sig. john
  22. do you know david ortiz? how about curt schilling? last time i checked curt wanted a 1-2 million dollar addition to his contract if they won the series? is that being a team player when no one else has it? did you forget that pedro was the guy that convinced ortiz to sign with boston? telling him that it's much better to play with your fellow friends/dominicans? pedro seems like a cocky arrogant person judging on how he dealt with contract negotiations, but that's how it is, he was the best pitcher to ever grace the planet for a period of time and felt that he had 4 good years left. don't forget that he would be a #2 guy behind schilling, he's not going to take that. other than last year pedro has been superior to schilling almost every year. if any of you have been watchin the pedro games you would know that he would not be having trouble with NY, balt or whatever DH you throw at him. he's absolutely filthy this year. john
  23. first off: pistol petey is my favorite player of all time, hands down, no one comes close. i love his in your face attitude. if i can't beat you i'll kill you, it's great. it's not often we see guys like that on the mound anymore. when he's on, damn, he's amazing. the location, the speed, the mixing of fb, changeup, curve, it's friggan amazing. it was a sad sad day when he signed with the mets with all that said, it was too risky to sign pedro. we would have had to match the mets 4 year offer with the same amount or more money, most likely more. yeah, he's pitching great right now, but how many years does this guy have left? how is he going to be in the 3rd year of his contract? let alone 4th? i think he'll be OK, but is OK worth 14+ million? ask the yankees about their 17 million dollar ace, you don't want that kind of contract on your team, it really cripples it. i wish pedro nothing but the best and hopes he pitches like a god for the remainder of his contract with the mets. it could happen, he's not fisk but who knows with this crazy game. john
  24. how is javier vazquez not an upgrade over david wells? i'm not saying we need i'm, i'm just talking about it. john
  25. when will people realize that you can't have a 1-5 that can "SHUT DOWN" the other team. people have seen 1-2 punches, even 1-2-3. but to get another guy like schilling? what kind of crazy crack pipe are you smoking my friend? btw- vazquez is BETTER than clement at his best. it's close but i think he's better. what if he's just another clement? i wouldn't mind having another clement on the team, especially if his name is javier vazquez. the kid eats innings, other than his first 2 seasons he's pitched over 200 innings (he missed it by 2 with the yankees last year, 198). i sure wouldn't mind: schilling clement vazquez arroyo my mom also, lets get back to this pavano clement thing.. as of yesterday: clement has 9 quality starts as opposed to pavano's 7 clement has the K/9 advantage but pavano has walked 16 less batters clement has about a mid 3 era whereas pavano has a mid 5 so far clement has been the better pitcher but the season is not even half over, pavano is not pitching as well as i thought he would, i was expecting a high 3 to low 4 era. clement is doing a pretty decent job minus the 3 or 4 blowups he's had. john
