    Ok, I'm ready to get beat down again, but no Damon or Mueller. You would think the Red Sox are the team up by 9 games, not Chicago.

    I agree that Petagine will not see anymore playing time. It will be intersting to see how Tito handles Millar and Olerud now.

    That's a good point, except when a guy is going good at the plate, that doesn't mean much. When a guy is going well at the plate, the last thing he needs is to stop playing. The more I get into this I realize it's probably better to move to the Francona thread. Here's hoping one day this month we see the playoff lineup.

    I'm just raising a point here. So Tek needs a day off. What's Millar's excuse? Here's an idea: Clinch this thing before the last series against the MFY and then rest starters. It would be nice to see Tito field a playoff lineup without feeling like he has to give someone the day off. Case in point: Albert Pujols has had 1 day off this season. He gets my vote for Most Valuable Robot.

    I really don't buy into the argument that Tito has to rest starters. Zito is pitching tonight and this is an opportunity to put more distance on from the MFY. How many starters will Torre rest tonight, oe even LaRussa?

    It's September and Tito is still resting starters? And he's resting a player who's had every 5th day off this season. And to top it off he's resting Millar. The Blonde Bomber finally gets his s*** together at the plate and Tito gives him a day off.

    I don't like Dinardo going on Friday. Ay first I thought Papelbon might get the start, then Tito had him in relief Thursday. How about Jeremy Gonzalez? At least he has some starts in the bigs. Even Abe Alvarez.

    I think what's incredibly frustrating for fans is how streaky Millar can be at the plate. Just go back at the game threads to see all his pop ups and double plays with runners in scoring position. Even Tito had him sit this year for Olerud. He ceratinly broke out of a summer-long slump last year to help the team. I don't know if changing hair color can make you hit better, but let's hope he 's on the same track.

    It obviously seems too harsh, but I also wish Wells would not lash into MLB like he did at his press conference. He doesn't need to give them any more reasons to suspend him again.
