  1. C'mon Bronson, get tough.
  2. Nice work by Bronson on Swisher, starting out 2-0 and then getting the K.
  3. I have a good feeling about this one. There is no basis for it. I just expect the Sox to break out with alot of hits tonight.
  4. This has not been a good year for him, with the injury and a divorce. I guess lashing out the fans makes him feel better.
  5. 4 hits in 5 innings. This is not looking great.
  6. I was actually referring to his assists in the first inning.
  7. Cano, 3 run HR, 5-3 MFY.
  8. Looks like they're taking the tarp off the field. http://www.instacam.com/showcam.asp?id=FENWY&size=L
  9. I can't expect much from Hansen. Actually I hope he doesn't get thrown into key situations.
  10. I agree about Millar in right. Rightfield is way too big at Fenway for someone like Millar to chasing fly balls down. I wonder how many great games Wake has left in him, I hope he has one tonight. The Sox have to come out and mash the ball!!!
  11. No I don't think they're playing that way on purpose. But I look at guys like Rent, and he looks like he'd rather be somewhere else. I see Manny strike out and twirl his bat. I see Tek swinging at first pitches. I would like to see some fire and intensity. Schilling showed some last night, and he seems like the only one.
  12. And it's time they started playing like champs. No more whinning about getting days off or making excuses. No more dropped balls and leaving men on base, no more crappy bullpen pitching and then they'll be no more complaining. Start playing ball.
  13. The Sox have also run into a string of pitchers that give them trouble. Guys like like McCarthy, Byrd, Small and now Blanton. Alot of off speed, breaking pitches seems to now have everyone's timing off. Even worse is that our slumping hitters are falling into first pitch swinging and not working into deep hitter counts.
  14. Delgado is trouble and too expensive. I doubt Theo has him on his radar.
  15. This schedule is not good one. These four games against Oakland are tough and could very well knock the Sox out of first by Sunday. All the problems with this club are getting bigger. Damon playing hurt is the newest problem. It's too late for any miracle trades and Hansen will not be here to save the day. This team just has to gut it out and start playing with some urgency.
  16. Another quality at bat by Rent.
  17. C'mon Rent if you're not going to hit than may a damn play.
  18. Stern is not the answer. Hyzdu is now with the team, but unfortunately we'll see alot more of Millar in rightfield. This injury cuts into the bench badly.
  19. Alot of first pitch swinging by the Sox, not many deep counts.
  20. Terrible effort tonight.
  21. I feel better. Hopefully he be in center this weekend at Fenway.
  22. Damon is back in Boston for an MRI. The shoulder bothers him when he throws, there's apparently no pain hitting. This could be much more serious than the bullpen problems.
  23. For what it's worth: Gammons on ESPN Insider writes he expects the Sox to re-sign Mueller and Olerud and use Youk at both 3b and 1b.
  24. I'll feel better when the 4 games against Oakland are over.
