  1. At least he didn't swing at the first pitch.
  2. We're not done. Just shut them down now.
  3. Way to go Trot. Mueller is a decent fastball hitter.
  4. C'mon let's get some runs!!!!!!!!!
  5. The first pitch?...go sit down.
  6. That's better. Now let's hit.
  7. Maybe now they can turn a DP.
  8. Olerud is starting tonight and Tito has 4 leftys in the lineup. I guess he's abandoning all the left/right strategy he used all season. I'm hoping Wells has the good curve.
  9. I think Tito needs to seriously consider Arroyo for a possible Game 5. Fortunately as bad as Clement has been lately, Wells has pitched really good. A split is in order.
  10. I haven't seen any reason to keep him in the post season rotation.
  11. This is going to be Arroyo's game.
  12. I kind of think Hansen would have been a good pick to pitch an inning here and there, maybe as a bridge to Papelbon in the 7th or 8th. Chicago doesn't have much lefthanded power, Posednik and Everett (switch hitter), so taking DiNardo doesn't make much sense.
  13. The problem in Game 1 is Clement. This guy has not had a good second half. He's been hanging his cutter and breaking balls and getting behind in counts with a ton of walks. Tito has to have a quick hook and be ready to bring in Arroyo for possible long relief.
  14. Game Time: 4 pm Tuesday.
  15. Let's just hold this lead. The Angels will be tough on NY if the series starts in Anaheim.
  16. What a relief. I have a feeling it'll be Sox and Angels next week.
  17. I heard Gammons on WEEI say he believes it would be a 4 o'clock start.
  18. As bad as things have gone, it really is a miracle they are in a positon to get into the playoffs, and now they've got to win either Sunday or Monday to get in.
  19. I have to say, I really don't feel too down about this. I don't know if winning it all last year has mellowed me. The situation is what it is, and the most important thing is getting into the playoffs. The Sox have three games to get in, and they lost the first. I really believe they'll win Sunday, but if not, they've got Monday to nail it down.
  20. Regardless, Millar should sit against Wright. The big question now is, does Tito have Schilling on a short leash if he gives up a couple of runs early?
  21. What really sealed this race for NY were the 4 wins against Baltimore down the stretch by one run.
